Flash Back.
I saw her coming in the door.
I didn’t want to be there anymore.
Someone said. “It’s a party. Just relax.”
But, the memories kept coming back.
Back to a time of wine and roses.
She made my song. I didn’t compose it.
She made my day. She made my life.
If things were different, she’d be my wife.
Flash back. Flash back. It keeps coming back.
Back to a time of fast cars and romance.
The time of my life when I was young.
We kissed on our very first dance.
Right from the start I knew she was the one.
Flash back. Flash back. We can’t go back.
After awhile, I began to relax.
Then I saw her making tracks.
She was headed right toward me.
No place to hide that I could see.
She grabbed my arm with a smile.
“Don’t go. Stay around for awhile.”
“I came tonight cause I heard you’d be here.”
“I have something I want to make clear.”
Flash back. Flash back. It keeps coming back.
Back to a time of fast cars and romance.
The time of my life when I was young.
We kissed on our first dance.
Right from the start I knew she was the one.
Flash back. Flash back. We can’t go back.
“I was young when we were a number.”
“I made a mistake & pulled us asunder.”
“I was afraid to make the commitment.”
“I guess I didn’t have the equipment.”
“It was the biggest mistake of my life.”
“I have suffered since & want to make it right.”
“Maybe we could still make a score.”
“If you would only take me back once more.”
Flash back Flash back. it keeps coming back.
Back to a time of fast cars and romance.
the time of my life when I was young.
We kissed on our first dance.
Right from the start I knew she was the one.
Flash back Flash back. We ‘can’ go back.
