The Magic Stone
“Here comes Hylin, he’s finally home.”
“I think he’s found the magic stone.”
“Get a meal ready, he looks hungry.”
“He is looking just a little bit sundry.”
“Did you find it?—— Tell us quick.”
“I need some food. My thinking is thick.”
After he ate, he told this story.
I left several months ago. It’s gory.
I went to the forbidden swamp.
I was looking for a clue in the font.
I beat off snakes, bugs, and crocks.
I found a clue in a hidden box.
But, I couldn’t get the box to open.
It was a spell that couldn’t be broken.
I searched for the Witchy Woman.
I found her & she got er done.
The clue said the castle of Hat Man Doo
is where I would find another clue.
I went against the Wichy Woman’s warnings.
Fortunately, you are not now in mourning.
The castle was a scary place, in & out.
Hat Man Doo was gone. I lucked out.
A tricky maze with traps galore.
Then I had the clue. I won’t say more.
The stone was in a field of corn.
I was hidden when I blew the horn.
The horn of Allerick brought the stone forth.
Some special notes the clue didn’t distort.
It is beautiful. The size of a melon.
All bright blue & I ran with it like a felon.
We will soon be out of this shack.
The stone has power to whoever brings it back.
He rubbed the stone & a genie appeared.
The genie said; “What the hell? This is weird.”
“Am I not granted 3 wishes?” Hylin said.
The genie said; “As long as you don’t wet the bed.”
“What the hell?” Hylin was a little miffed.
The genie said: “Would you rather I gave you a kiss?”
“Hell no!!” “ Grant me a wish I already know.”
“They are always in a rush to go, go, go.”
“You are an insulting and smartass genie.”
“Well, at least, I am not a meanie.”
“But, you seem to be a smart ass genie.”
“What, no humor? O.K. let’s hear your 3 wishes.”
“I suppose the usual, money fame, & glory.”
“It might have been, but since you are a smart ass.”
“I will ask for 3 wishes with some real class.”
“World peace, world health, & world immortality.”
“Are you mad?? Only one person could fill those wishes.”
“And who might this person be?”
“Someone called Jesus. He hasn’t been born yet, see.”
“I will give you a future book called the Bible.’
“It will tell you how to attain all those wishes, if entitled.”
“Meantime, I will grant you 3 regular wishes.”
“O.K. A home for generations to come, for the misses.”
“Financial security for generations to come.’
“A family name that will mean much to more to some.”
“Now, where is this book you spoke of?”
A Bible appeared out of thin air above.
Hylin reached up and grabbed it.
“I will grant you one more wish as a gift.”
“O.K. I wish that you be freed from the stone.”
“What? Such a wish has never been known.”
“My gift to you for giving me this Bible.”
“I am sure what I read here won’t make you libel.”
So ends the story of the magic stone.
Funny, the genie never left them alone.
He said he had a new role now.
He is called The Holy Spirit to show them how.
