Peace & Good Will At Last

Peace & Good Will At Last

Way back up in the bayou.

Cackling Hattie mixed a bubbling brew.

She cackled and stirred and added things.

Only she knew what the end would bring.

She was tired of hearing negative news.

That was why she was mixing her brew.

If things didn’t change, it wouldn’t be good.

People would try to hide in her neck of the woods.

She didn’t want her privacy invaded.

To prevent this she had calculated.

A magic spell & a brew should do the trick.

She just had to stir it for a little bit.

When she was done big changes would be made.

All the bad and nasty news would fade.

Her spell and brew was something special.

She poured some out into a vessel.

She mumbled and talked in a secret tongue.

This was going to affect everyone.

It was done,— for what it was worth.

Peace and good will to all on earth.

It happened to be Christmas day.

Not that Hattie planned it that way.

All, she wanted was to be left alone.

“I hope it works”, she said with a groan.
