More Than A Friend (Part 6)
After the weekend, they returned to school.
They had one more thing to do.
Prom was coming up in a week.
They needed to call the girls they seek.
Ask them if they would go to the prom.
If yes, then they would give it the ole come on.
Coz asked Raywin Collier and she said yes.
Tom asked Truly Garland. She was the best.
Both dates accepted so they got primed.
They planned to have a real good time.
It was early when they all arrived.
They started dancing. None were shy.
Then, in walked in the king of the prom.
Coz immediately reacted and told Tom.
“He has a smell that stinks like a snake.”
“He has to be a reptile. Make no mistake.”
Tom said “What are we going to do?”
Coz said “Watch, and I will show you.”
Coz made the high pitched sound.
‘The king’ was on the dance floor spinning round.
He was dancing with his chosen queen.
He was about to have an embarrassing scene.
His right hand turned to a reptile claw.
His queen screamed at what she saw.
Then, she slapped his face.
“That’s not funny” as she stomped out of the place.
He ran from the dance floor, neither was seen again.
Coz and his date were elected king & queen then.
From then on, the rest of the night was great.
Both had a ball with their dates.
On the way home they discussed what happened.
“ He had a fake claw he wore, so she slapped him.”
“That was a stupid thing for him to do” said Truly.
“Yes” said Raywin “Immature and goofy.”
Coz and Tom didn’t say what really went on.
They didn’t want to spoil the prom.
They had the summer before them after the fling.
First thing, follow up on the so called ‘king.’
The kids father was the town’s mayor.
They would check it out layer by layer.
How many in the family were reptiles?
They would be put in the secret files.
They told Coz’s dad and planned what to do.
“I don’t want a reptile coming for you.”
“Neither do I dad” said Coz. “Neither does Tom.”
“Well, I am glad it turned out well at the prom.”
What would they plan to do next?
Keep reading. It will be in the text.
