Life Goes On
Skipping across the sea.
Flying fast and flying free.
Butterflies bursting into flame.
Everything is going insane.
The day before the sun didn’t shine.
Yet, I found this friend of mine.
We hiked through the driving rain.
Anything to wash away the pain.
Wash the memories from our mind.
It’s the best way to be kind.
Our jet skis are running low on fuel.
At least I am here with you.
Everywhere is a total waste.
Can this be our final fate?
We see a spit of land ahead.
A small island, isolated, it is said.
Fresh water, food, a way to live.
We have nothing left to give.
Man has tried to kill us all.
None were ready for the fall.
Hopefully, here, we will be left alone.
There is nowhere else that we can roam.
Paradise lost and paradise found.
We don’t know to smile or frown.
All we know is we will survive.
Despite all, it’s good to be alive.
