Dancing In The Moonlight

Dancing In The Moonlight

You were dancing in the moonlight.
Your eyes were alight, your face bright.
I didn’t know who you were ?
But, I liked what I saw, for sure.

Like a fairy dancing in the wind.
You fluttered all around again.
You didn’t know that I was there.
Your eyes were blue, your skin fair.

You’re a sight I will never forget.
Every move just seemed to fit.
I could imagine the pixie dust.
Being stirred up by your lust.

Like you were one with nature.
Every move had its place here.
You were in a world of your own.
The music was from a heavenly throne.

It was a song only you could hear.
The wind was whistling in my ear.
I was lost in the colors of your dress.
By far, I knew that you were the best.

Eventually, you noticed me standing there.
You brushed some leaves from your hair.
You approached, a smile on your lips.
Was I really going to be part of this?

I joined you in your dance to the moon.
My feelings racing, my heart did swoon.
Before I knew it, it was all over.
You gave me a hug, standing in clover.

Then, suddenly, you were gone.
I have no idea what went wrong.
First you were there, then you were not.
I looked around, glued to the spot.

Were you my imagination or not?
Maybe it never happened, I thought.
But, then I got a whiff of your scent.
I knew it was real and all that it meant.

Every full moon I look for you.
Wherever you go, I’m going to.
I refuse to stay behind.
You and I are one of a kind.
