Time Slipping Away
It seems like time kept slipping away.
He decided to change things one day.
After 2 years of research he had it.
A single pill to make him fit.
He popped the pill & time slowed down.
He looked around with a frown.
All seemed normal all around him.
The clock has stopped, he said with a grin.
Then, VERY slowly. The door opened.
His lab assistant was approaching.
It took him 5 minutes to go 10 feet.
It was weird, but pretty neat.
The assistant couldn’t see him move.
He was much too fast to behoove.
To him, the assistant was VERY slow.
He had actually speeded up, you know.
Then, he realized, time wasn’t slipping by.
It was flying by. He started to cry.
This wasn’t the result he was hoping for.
He hoped the change wasn’t for good.
He wanted to slow down, if he could.
Eventually, the effects wore off.
He looked around, with a cough.
He didn’t care about time slipping away.
He decided he kind of liked it this way.
The lesson learned here was very clear.
Don’t rush it. Just kick back and have a beer.
