Rebuilding A Soul

Rebuilding A Soul

Like pieces of broken glass, reflecting all the colors of the sun.
There lies the soul of a man who has come undone.
The emotional trauma that destroyed such a precious thing
seems so overwhelming that it simply can only be mean.
What would it take to restore this soul to its former state?
It may require more than me. Do I have what it would take?
All the shattered pieces must be reassembled correctly.
If not, he will be unable to love. He will be inept, see.
It will take great patience and care to do this thing.
Once done correctly, his heart may yet, again, sing.
Once assembled it will take trust to make it secure.
Trust is the only adhesive that will make it all adhere.
That is the hardest part of the entire procedure.
Pure trust, once destroyed, is hard to reclaim, I fear.
If this all can be accomplished, what a revelation.
Here is a man who will resist all temptation.
A man who will love with all his heart and soul.
To have such a man as mine is my goal.
It will take all my skill and ingenuity as a woman.
He was burned once. He must never know it again.
Once I have rebuilt his soul, I will never let go.
No one will ever know it was I who rebuilt his soul.
