The Dragon Rider’s First Quest
The Dragon Rider heard the news.
Some ‘baddies’ were abducting kids.
Selling them for money and booze.
They were sold to the highest bids.
His dragon knew when he did.
Their minds were melded as one.
He met the dragon where she hid.
There was a battle to be won.
He flew his dragon in the night.
They flew to where the ‘baddies’ were.
They knew what they did was right.
This would be brutal, they were sure.
They found the ‘baddies’ all tanked up.
Sitting around a small camp fire.
He had a tightness in his gut.
There would be no talking to the liars.
The dragon swooped down & screeched.
They looked up & were sprayed with fire.
They had no time to gain their feet.
Instant crispy critters & burned up liars.
Booze & a camp fire should cover it.
But, one witness saw the whole thing.
Word spread that a man on a dragon did it.
Who could believe a man on the wing?
The legend of The Dragon Rider had begun.
It spread like wild fire through the land.
This would not be the only battle he won.
He became known as The Dragon Man.
