The Country Lass & The City Slicker
I was driving around, wasting gas.
Till I found a little country lass.
She was walking along a country road.
Looked like she was toting a heavy load.
I pulled over and offered her a ride.
She had a flat tire by her side.
She hadn’t had a spare at the time.
She wanted to know if she could borrow mine.
I said sure, if it will fit on your car.
She said it was back there, not too far.
I took her & the flat back to her car.
My spare fit. We went to get air. Not too far.
The station patched her tire for her.
I took her back to where we were.
I put her tire back on her car.
She said to follow her home. It’s not far.
I did and she tried to pay me.
I said no way. I did it all for free.
She said how about dinner then?
I said sure. That will make it a win, win.
One thing led to another.
It seemed like in no time we were lovers.
Time passed like it always does.
We were like two turtle doves.
Whatever I did she was there.
She was with me everywhere.
I knew for sure she was the one.
We married and it all was fun.
A country girl with a city slicker.
A lot of people would just snicker.
But, love is where you find it.
So, don’t give us any lip.
Our love is strong and it goes on.
I will love her till the day I’m gone.
