Who Wrote Those Fairy Tales?

Who Wrote Those Fairy Tales?

Have you ever wondered where fairy tales came from?
What twisted mind would put a kid on a bun?
Why did the witch have a ginger bread house?
Then want to eat kids? Better to eat a mouse.
That’s just one fairy tale that is pretty gruesome.
Red Riding Hood trembled till the ax man grew some.
Her grandmother wasn’t so lucky.
The wolf should have been full. That’s no plucky.
You’ve heard the fairy tales same as me.
Most are as gruesome as can be.
Not recommended reading by today’s standards.
I wonder if, when written, they raised any banners?
Maybe there’s a certain amount of truth in every one.
If so, just take a look at where we’ve come from.
No wonder things are so gruesome today.
History repeats itself, or so they say.
There is some sick stuff mentioned in fairy tales.
Whoever recommended it for kids should be in jail.
That’s my 2 cents on fairy tales.
Now, back to my horror movie. The modern fairy tale.

Remeniscing Again

Reminiscing Again

Here I go one more time again.
Thinking about way back when.
No need then to lock your doors.
No rioting or any nasty hoards.
A time to walk in moonlight.
Enjoying the quiet of the night.
No fear of being attacked.
No problem with being hacked.
Cell phones weren’t invented yet.
Letter writing was a big outlet.
Playing outside was a way of life.
No one threatened you with a knife.
People were honest. Robbery was low.
People felt safe where ever they would go.
On Sabbath, church was the place to be.
Families were strong and you felt free.
There were bullies, but not like now.
We did farm work and milked the cow.
Kids had great imaginations back then.
Entertaining each other with games of whim.
Nighttime brought us restful sleep.
No nightmares about nightly news repeats.
Security is an important word.
A wonderful feeling that’s not absurd.
We felt secure back in those days.
Back when things were simpler ways.
Not all changes since then have been good.
I would go back to the old days, if I could.
But, just remembering brings peace of mind.
Back when the world once knew a better time.

Waiting For God

Waiting For God

Deep, deep in the woods was a cabin.
Someone was yelling, like a mad hen.
The wife of the woodsman wanted out.
She was sick of the isolation and trout.
Occasionally, they would have deer.
There was plenty of homemade beer.
They made their living off the land.
They were totally off the grid of man.
Everything they had, they made themselves.
Nothing was made by any Keebler elves.
They had two kids who were home schooled.
They were smart enough to never be fooled.
The daughter never had suitors come around.
Clifton Clower’s daughter would be easier found.
The son never dated nor saw a female.
Though he knew about them in every detail.
The mom was yelling that it was time to go.
The children needed others to be in the know.
They had strong religious beliefs about the end.
For these reasons the husband would not bend.
He believed in keeping away from the worldly sins.
A time of trouble like no other is ready to begin.
We must trust one hundred percent on the Lord.
We could yet be attacked by ugly hoards.
Once it is over and the day of the Lord has come.
We will be with Jesus. We won’t be the only ones.
So, they settled down for their evening meal.
Each person prayed and told how they feel.
They asked forgiveness for any sin.
One day closer to a world without end.

Breakfast Surprise

Breakfast Surprise

I took a walk just the other day.
I ended up at the Buttercup Café.
I walked in and took a seat.
I thought I would get something to eat.
Then I saw my son walk in.
He was with his wife and a friend.
I waved them over and they sat down.
We ordered coffee all around.
I asked what they were up to?
“Why, having breakfast with you.”
“No shit Sherlock” was all I said.
“Don’t let it go to your head.”
We ate, talked, laughed, and had fun.
Then paid our bill and were on the run.
I walked home and they did their thing.
What a pleasant day my walk did bring.

A Bizarre Day

A Bizarre Day

Playing with my dog on a sunny day.
Chasing what I threw as we went on our way.
Before long, we were in the woods.
He ran around investigating, like he should.
Before long, he brought back a backpack.
Now why in the world did he do that?
I told him to show me. He led the way.
This was becoming an interesting day.
In the bushes, something was hidden.
It was a dead body looking forbidden.
A male of high school age, it seemed.
I could see no injury. He was clean.
Yet someone must have hidden him there.
I got the feeling I should beware.
I quickly called the police on my phone.
Then, we waited there all alone.
Before long, a couple policemen arrived.
They checked the kid to see if he was alive.
He wasn’t, so they taped off the area.
He said: “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare ya.”
“Am I a suspect? My dog found the body.”
“No”, he said, then smiled kind of oddly.
“What killed him? Do you know?”
“That would be the corner’s show.”
“We’ll call forensics and the corner.”
“Once they are done, we might know for sure.”
They questioned me for a little while.
Took my address and said with a smile.
“You can go. Well call if we need you.”
I heard later that the body disappeared.
Now, let me tell you, that was weird.
He vanished while the cops were looking at him.
It was just like he had never been.
Twilight Zone type of stuff for sure.
So much for my walk with my cur.

That Morning Cup Of Coffee

That Morning Cup Of Coffee

A cup of coffee in the morning is great!!
I was half awake cause I stayed up late.
I poured the coffee and took a swig.
Burned my mouth doing that little gig.
Verbal vomit flew from my mouth.
Along with the coffee that I did spout.
Well,—- I am wide awake now!!
And mad enough to kick a cow.
As I nursed my swollen mouth,
I staggered over & sat on the couch.
Eventually, the coffee cooled down.
I started sipping it with a frown.
Why do we need this java every morning?
So we can burn ourselves without warning?
But, if careful, we can manage one cup.
To drag our tired ass out of the rut.
Coffee!! Nectar of the gods.
Bitter as hell, but against all odds,
It has become a popular drink.
Start your day feeling in the pink.
Is it the caffeine perking you up?
Is it the flavor, with creamer in your cup?
Whatever, it seems to be addictive.
Healthy effects are also predicted.
Despite the burned mouth, it is a plus.
The favorite drink for most of us.

Improbable History

Improbable History

“In 1492, something sailed the ocean blue.”
“I am wondering about it, just like you.”
“I’ve heard rumors. They are in my head.”
“It all happened, just like they said.”
“But, what the hell happened,” I asked.
As I sat there scratching my ass.
“Didn’t you pay attention in school?”
“Of course I did, you dorky fool!”
“Well, this was taught in history class.”
“Sorry.—– That was one I didn’t pass.”
“That is easy enough to tell.”
“Would you like a one way ticket to hell?”
“Don’t get in an uproar, it’s time to learn.”
“The answer to this riddle we will confirm.”
“Columbus sailed the ocean blue.”
“It happened way back in 1492.”
“Who gives a hoot about way back then?”
“Did he set a speed record, or smuggle gin?”
“NO. He discovered America.”
“The New World; and met native Americans.”
“Well, blow me down. No wonder I failed.”
“I probably slept through such a boring tale.”
“The queen hocked her jewels to pay for his trip.”
“What? He hocked stolen jewels to make that trip?”
“No wonder he wanted to get away as far as possible.”
“Now you’re making a mockery of history. Not plausible.”
“I’m just telling it in laymen’s words.”
“You’ve earned another ‘F’. It’s for the birds.”
“Teaching you history is an impossible job.”
“You are one person who is very odd.”
“Speak for yourself. One of worthless knowledge.”
“To learn the truth, I will have to go to college.”

Soul Searching

Soul Searching

You are always going from town to town.
One job to another. Whatever you found.
No permanent roots. It was not your thing.
You were not really into anything.

Just not ready yet to settle down.
You still kept one foot on the ground.
Paycheck to paycheck was your thing.
You weren’t looking for a wedding ring.

Oh,—Have you wondered about it at all?
Are you worried about a fall?
Those odd feelings that you sometimes get.
Those feelings that you cannot forget.
Are they almost like a pain to you?
Yet, there is never any follow through.

You decided to make a different fate.
So, you moved to a different state.
Different people, different jobs.
Yet, you were still feeling odd.

You’re like someone waiting for a call.
But, there is nothing out there at all.
You’re inner self has needs to fulfill.
Yet, you have resisted it with your will.

Oh,—Have you wondered about it at all?
Are you worried about a fall?
Those odd feelings that you sometimes get.
Those feelings that you cannot forget.
Are they almost like a pain to you?
Yet, there is never any follow through.

Could that feeling be loneliness?
No close relations can lead to this.
Do you feel that something is missing?
Is there anything that feels uplifting?

Do you ever feel incomplete?
Are you searching for a special treat?
Do you think you can bring it around?
By continuing to roam from town to town?

Oh,—Have you wondered about it all?
Are you worried about a fall?
Those odd feelings that you sometimes get.
Those feelings that you cannot forget.
Are they almost like a pain to you?
Yet, there is never any follow through.

Well Worth It

Well Worth It

She loved deep and she loved strong.
Not many like her ever come along.
The perfect girl anyone could have.
Why did she end up with such a cad?
Many would want her as their girl.
So sweet & loving.— Such a thrill.
Then someone like him ruined her.
He treated her badly. Such a cur.
I would of treated her like a queen.
She would never worry in between.
I would always be faithful and true.
Surely, my mama didn’t raise no fool.
She was too trusting till she met him.
Oh, what a predicament he put her in.
She came out crushed & scared for life.
She would have made the perfect wife.
Curse this beast and all he’s done.
She may never be able to have fun.
She will always be untrusting of men.
He’s to blame for the pickle were in.
It will take a lifetime of loving work.
A job I would take on, and not shirk.
To save one as precious as her,
anything is worth it. That’s for sure.

Always A Storm

Always A Storm

Our love can no longer remain.
That is because you have broken the chain.
The chain of love that bound us together.
So strong, it would survive any weather.

I struggled to find the reason for this.
What caused our love to go amiss?
Since, I have been feeling so forlorn.
I have found I am always a storm.

Strong emotions of hurricane strength.
Always in a stir over whatever you think.
It would take a lot to settle me down.
I could only do it if you were around.

But, this was taking its toll on you.
It took all you had just to get through.
It all finally came to the breaking point.
Nothing helped, not even a joint.

The chain of love was finally broken.
I could use the pieces as a token.
All I can do now is to mourn.
And remember, I am always a storm.
