The Decision To Serve
He had heard some sort of call.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall.
To hear what transpired.
Too bad he wasn’t wired.
He showed up right on time.
Strip searched. He paid no mind.
Shown in to an inner room.
To meet someone there in the gloom.
What had he gotten into?
He felt the call. He was no fool.
It was a woman who met him there.
Non descript, except for her hair.
“You understand why you’re here?”
“I think so, but make it clear.”
“You’re here because you’re the chosen one.”
“You will lead us to Kingdom Come.”
“How can such a thing be done?”
“After all, I am insignificant to some.”
“You will be given all you need.”
“What’s in your heart is all you need.”
“Whatever your will. I am all yours.”
“I totally surrender all my fears.”
“You will be blessed my son.”
“You will be guided from the only One.”
If this was what it was like to surrender.
Would more people become a member?
Would more be soldiers for God?
Would more carry an iron rod?
For each of us it is a private matter.
Between you and your God, a ladder.
Many are chosen, few respond.
Be one of them that will go on.
God can use all who are willing.
Yes, it can, and will be thrilling.
How you’re used will fit your nature.
God, the creator, Knows your fate here.
Trust in Him with all your heart.
He is with you from the start.
You’ll never face more than you can bare.
He is with you everywhere.
