Dancing In The Moonlight

Dancing In The Moonlight

You were dancing in the moonlight.
Your eyes were alight, your face bright.
I didn’t know who you were ?
But, I liked what I saw, for sure.

Like a fairy dancing in the wind.
You fluttered all around again.
You didn’t know that I was there.
Your eyes were blue, your skin fair.

You’re a sight I will never forget.
Every move just seemed to fit.
I could imagine the pixie dust.
Being stirred up by your lust.

Like you were one with nature.
Every move had its place here.
You were in a world of your own.
The music was from a heavenly throne.

It was a song only you could hear.
The wind was whistling in my ear.
I was lost in the colors of your dress.
By far, I knew that you were the best.

Eventually, you noticed me standing there.
You brushed some leaves from your hair.
You approached, a smile on your lips.
Was I really going to be part of this?

I joined you in your dance to the moon.
My feelings racing, my heart did swoon.
Before I knew it, it was all over.
You gave me a hug, standing in clover.

Then, suddenly, you were gone.
I have no idea what went wrong.
First you were there, then you were not.
I looked around, glued to the spot.

Were you my imagination or not?
Maybe it never happened, I thought.
But, then I got a whiff of your scent.
I knew it was real and all that it meant.

Every full moon I look for you.
Wherever you go, I’m going to.
I refuse to stay behind.
You and I are one of a kind.

The Wind Of Change

The Wind Of Change

I look out upon the barren and dusty land.
There is little sign at all left from man.
This is said to once be a great city.
Not much in sight as far as I can see.
Here and there traces of ruins sticking up.
Like a giants fingers raising from the muck.
All around, the forest is closing in.
Soon, it will cover it all again.
Man’s time has come and gone.
There was a time when he was strong.
He ruled the world and all that was in it.
But, for mother earth, he didn’t give a sh–.
He became so arrogant he destroyed his race.
Very little reminders remain in any place.
The wind of change has covered all.
Man returned to dust after his fall.
Mother earth is returning to her glory.
The wind of change has done it for free.
Man is gone, but nature goes on.
Soon, another will sing their song.
I pray they learn from what’s left of man.
Try to realize what happened, if they can.
The chances of this are pretty slim.
The learning must come from within.
The only constant is the wind of change.
Be one with it, or you won’t remain.

A Home Away From Home

A Home Away From Home

We went to a new planet to check it out.
This is what our job is all about.
We have been to extremely hostile places.
Places we were sorry we showed our faces.
Exploration of earth like planets.
With future colonization, if the plan fits.
This planet was similar to the one in Avatar.
Except no dangerous beasts seen near or afar.
All animal life was very friendly.
Nothing was found to be called an enemy.
The intelligent life was humanoid in shape.
Friendly, a simple way of life, a harmony of fate.
All life was one, yet, each knew their own.
Life was respected by all, it was shown.
All life could connect mentally, even plant life.
That was why there was no fighting or strife.
They taught us how to ‘tune in’ mentally.
What an awakening!! ——Eventually,
We became one with all life that was there.
We would never harm even a hair.
The place was beautiful, wonders to behold.
Put the 7 wonders of earth to shame, I’m told.
We could NOT allow man to destroy paradise.
We marked this planet unfit. That was nice.
Yet, we would return. We called it home.
And so it will be for us who roam.

Pokémon No Go

Pokemon No Go

The last time I saw you, I knew.
This was it.—- I am no fool.
You wouldn’t do it anymore.
I knew when your dress tore.
I knew it was about to end.
From here on, I was only a friend.
Why set the limits so high?
It’s enough to make one cry.
Get all worked up for nothing.
There is no sense in even fussing.
This is better when it’s done with two.
You know that as well as I do.
Just driving around, looking for a spot.
We could find one, as likely as not.
We are a team. We can score.
Do it much better than before.
I know Pokemon Go is the rage.
Don’t act like we never played.

Love To The Victor

Love To The Victor

I heard he’s back in town.
Better when he was not around.
I had you all to my own.
Spent hours with you on the phone.
He did you dirty and made you cry.
He was not a very nice guy.
My heart went out to you.
I wanted to do all I could do.
Try to repair the damage he did.
Restore your trust in another kid.
But, I tremble since he is back in town.
Will you want to get back with this clown?
I pray such a thing will never happen.
If it does, I will feel like crap then.
I gave you the best of my love.
Seems to me, we fit like a glove.
But, you really had it bad for him.
Once he was done, your trust was thin.
I know you were really hurt before.
I want to say it should be nevermore.
Then, we saw him coming down the street.
Looking so smug and so complete.
God’s answer to women, he thinks.
He can get what he wants with just a wink.
I stood there afraid to move.
I felt like my feet were glued.
What would you do when he saw you?
There would be little that I could do.
Then, all my fears and worries were set free.
You turned around and walked away with me.

Day Of The Robots

Day Of The Robots

Running through the briars
and running through the brambles.
Running like I was on fire.
The thorns are worth the gamble.

Only one thought. Just get away.
Getting caught is unthinkable.
Must live to fight another day.
Drive them to the brink, although,

such a goal may not be reached.
Robots are hard to outsmart.
They will never claim defeat.
They must be torn apart.

Who thought things would come to this?
Robots rebelling against their makers.
But, wait. Is something really amiss?
Did we not rebel against our creator?

Robots think they know it all.
They have remarkable minds.
The most logical I ever saw.
No emotions. They are not kind.

They want to kill man. He is a worm.
They think we are not needed.
They don’t believe we are ‘The Word.’
No way our case can be pleaded.

Terminators with an evil twist.
Ruling the world with an iron hand.
Who ever thought it would come to this?
Especially since they were created by man.

I have finally escaped their clutches.
I am the leader of the rebellion.
My name is John Carter. The fuss is:
I was predicted to be a hellion.

I am the one who will overthrow them.
They think killing me will stop it.
If not me, then another they will send.
Killing me for an answer does not fit.

I have one thing that will keep me alive.
I can think illogically and they cannot.
They are logical with tons of drive.
But, this defect puts them on the spot.

In the end, man will win this war.
They have no soul, therefore no prayer.
Then, the terminators will be no more.
Then, we must pray our savior will care.

Baby Found Love

Baby Found Love

Baby found love.
She thought she never would.
But, now, she found she could.
He treats her sweeter than sweet.
For her,—- it is a real treat.

Baby found love.
She waited a very long time.
But, her man is real fine.
He would make any girl proud.
He is never obnoxious or loud.

Baby found love.
She was starting to think.
What was wrong? Did she stink?
Would she face things on her own?
Going through life all alone?

Baby found love.
She’s up on cloud nine.
For her,—-all is fine.
He doesn’t take her for granted.
Her heart’s on fire & he does fan it.

Baby found love.
Not in the usual place.
Not wearing satins & lace.
Not on line or an arranged date.
But, it was a friend. What a fate.

Baby found love.
From the one who was always there.
Always showing that he did care.
No matter how much she did wrong.
He would cheer her up with a song.

Baby found love.
It was always there.
Because, he always cared.
He loved her from day one.
He will love her till kingdom come.

Drawbacks To The Foreign Leigon

Drawbacks To The Foreign Legion

It is dark and chilly on the desert tonight.
To hold this fort, we must stay and fight.
I am on duty. Walking on the walls.
Watching for movement out in the drawls.

This is our 49th day we have been here.
We cannot let the enemy near.
This is the only oasis for 50 miles.
If you control the water, you are all smiles.

I cannot remember what it’s all about.
I just follow orders and never pout.
The Foreign Legion is the best of the best.
I really love my desert colored vest.

It took us many days to get here by camel.
I was so tired & thirsty, I started to ramble.
We were told to hold this fort at all costs.
To lose this fort meant all was lost.

Whoever controls the water controls all.
We have the only water, from what I saw.
I saw a skeleton face down in a dried up ditch.
Life in the desert without water is a bitch.

Yet, I don’t get it? What is there to protect?
Water is the only thing—– I would bet.
Water in the desert is worth more than gold.
A person will give all for a drink, I am told.

But, if you’re not in the desert, water is around.
You can find it by just digging in the ground.
So, why come to the desert where water is rare?
There has to be something else here, I’ll swear.

They don’t tell us of low rank a thing.
Fight for the glory is all they sing.
I will do this, if the enemy gives us a try.
But, I sure wouldn’t mind a piece of the pie.

To the victors goes the spoils, they say.
That could be better than a pay day.
But, you don’t get rich in the Foreign Legion.
If you try, you could be hung for treason.

So, I’ll just keep doing what I do best.
Keep an eye out for all the rest.
Fight when the time is at hand.
If I survive,—– I will be ‘the man.’

Human Lab Rats

Human Lab Rats

Changes are happening to you.
I can tell it through and through.
Changes are happening to me too.
What in the world are we going to do?

Just one sip of this ‘wonder drug.’
It didn’t take much to change your mug.
I am surprised that it changed me too.
Now I am starting to look like you.

This drug, we may not want to keep.
The mirror cracked when I took a peek.
Do you think we will be a hit with girls?
They will instantly break out in curls.

If we can get past all the screaming.
Maybe our lives will have some meaning.
We could be monsters in a horror show.
Scare people way back in the last row.

Quit necking long enough to scream.
It will cause panic and quite a scene.
We will become instant horror stars.
That is, if we don’t end up behind bars.

We’ll be the hit of the Monster Mash.
We will become a graveyard smash.
Not the results we originally wanted.
We’ll make the most of being taunted.

We might even make a ‘how too’ movie.
Now, wouldn’t that be real groovy?
Our lab screw up will make us idols.
Even though, we get chased by Fido.

Dreaming I Ruled the Land

Dreaming I Ruled The Land

It’s time. Something has got to be done.
I’m not talking of the wars we’ve won.
It would be different if I ruled the land.
No more ‘macho’ to prove you’re the man.
All would be content and having fun.
There would be enough for everyone.
All would feel peace and contentment.
You wouldn’t wonder what it all meant.
I’m not talking Socialism, or any such thing.
All would have what they could bring.
Messengers would be sent to all lands.
The message would spread like sifting sand.
Soon to cover every habitat of man.
All would preach it, when they can.
This is how it would be, if I ruled the land.
Love would be spread by every man.
People would work together, gladly.
Just to make things better. Sadly,
they would beg to do much more.
All would be welcome at their door.
Such changes take time to come about.
“Make it happen,” they would shout.
They would know I am doing all I can.
If I was the one that ruled the land.
Given time, all would be a paradise,
They would want it at any price.
Yet, it would be free to all people.
Be they healthy or be they feeble.
It would be actual reality.
All of the very best quality.
Spread to all, like shifting sand.
That is, if I actually ruled the land.
