It’s So Fine

      It’s So Fine!!

It was just another typical day.

Except, everything was going my way.

Everything I said or tried to do

was going just right since I met you.

Oh, it’s what you do to me.

You— have let my heart be free.

I fantasize about what you’ll say or do.

Then you do just what I thought you’d do.

Are you able to read my mind?

I swear, this happens all the time.

It’s so fine.

It’s so fine.

It’s so fiiiine!!

I’m so happy that you are mine.

We just met the other day.

I didn’t know what to do or say.

Yet, you made it all come true.

I’m so happy I found you.

I don’t know what you see in me.

I just know my heart is free.

You said that what you see in me

is someone who loves emotionally.

Who is not phony in what they say.

One who will love you in every way.

It’s so fine.

It’s so fine.

It’s so fiiine!!

I’m so happy that you are mine.

My love is strong, yet young.

It will grow as we have fun.

It is true like the Bible is too.

It is patient, as I wait for you.

It is dedicated. Only you will do.

It is lasting & will stick like glue.

It is long suffering if need be.

It is all for you, can’t you see.

This is a little of what you see in me.

This and more is what you do to me.

It’s so fine.

It’s so fine.

It’s so fiiine!!

I’m so happy that you are mine.———–R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

Waiting

      Waiting

Will I see you coming in the air tonight, oh Lord?

I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life, oh Lord.

Are you coming in the air tonight , oh Lord?

I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life, oh Lord.

I remember—- when I first met you.

My mom would take me to Sabbath school.

I learned all about your life and times.

I read all the books I could find.

I studied the Bible through & through.

I wanted to learn all I could about you.

The day came when I was baptized.

My life was yours from then on I realized.

Will I see you coming in the air tonight, oh Lord?

I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life, oh Lord.

Are you coming in the air tonight, oh Lord?

I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life, oh Lord.

In December—-I suffered a great loss.

My wife died while still holding her cross.

Cancer took her as she rested in peace.

I know you took her Lord to give her relief.

It was hard, but you were at my side.

I gave it all to you & swallowed my pride.

I have been sustained by your gracious love.

Sent to me from where you are above.

Will I see you coming in the air tonight, oh Lord?

I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life , oh Lord.

Are you coming in the air tonight, oh Lord?

I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life, oh Lord.

Do surrender,—– we are near the end.

Every prophecy has been fulfilled herein.

Believers are living by faith alone.

That our Lord will save us & take us home.

I review every moment of my life.

Searching for unconfessed sins with strife.

I have faith my sins are all forgiven.

Now, all I want is to be in heaven with Him.

Love Sick?

      Love Sick?

I think I’m dying in your arms again.

A romance like this can never win.

I want to hold you & never let you go.

Each time I try I feel really low.

My stomach churns & my head gets light.

Soon I have to say goodbye for the night.

At first I thought it was just my nerves.

But, every time, it seems to occur.

Is it just love making me feel this way?

Am I allergic to you in some way?

Or, have you slipped something into my drink?

Maybe in the food? It makes me think.

Why would you want to do me in?

I know you think I am more than a friend.

I can’t tell anyone about this.

They will think I’m nuts. I’m pissed.

Nothing seems to happen with a kiss.

Maybe it is an x-boyfriend’s wish?

Should I go to the Doctor. to see

what in the world is the matter with me?

He might say it will work itself out in the end.

I’m not talking stools here. I need a friend.

You can’t love a girl & get sick when you hold her.

To make it worse, I haven’t even told her.

This has never happened with anyone else.

The worst that’s happened is maybe a belch.

In an hour or so I’ll feel fine.

If I can get away from her in time.

There is no going to 2ond base with her.

If I slide into 3rd  I’ll be dead for sure.

Then I realize, it could be my conscience

speaking to me?—– That’s nonsense.

A conscience is the voice of God.

That may not be so odd.

Maybe He is telling me to take my time.

Give yourself some time to unwind.

This girl is not going anywhere.

Soon, she’ll be yours & she’ll always care.

This thought made me feel a whole lot better.

Soon things were progressing right on the letter.

No more illness noted on my part.

Though, lately, when close, she has to fart.

I can take it all in stride.

After all, God said she would be my bride.–R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

Thinking Of Us Again

      Thinking Of Us Again

Lately I’ve been thinking about my life’s time.

All the things we’ve shared since you were mine.

The children that we’ve raised.

The many games we’ve played.

The ups & downs, the all around.

The things that make up life abounds.

I have to say all and all

it’s been a good life overall.

I thank God for treating us so kind.

Just the other day, when a grandchild was here .

The way you laughed & played with her brought tears.

It brought back memories from the past.

The kind of memories that will always last.

Just one more reason I love you so much, dear.

I always cherish the moments that your near.

Things are slowing down some now.

Still, the spark of love burns somehow.

I thank God for giving us this time.

Overall we’ve done our best.

We’re at ease with all the rest.

It’s as much fun now as it was back then.

I’m sure we’d make the same choices again.

The little things add up.

When you fill my coffee cup.

You always say to my health.

I ask “What about the wealth?”

I thank God when you say I’m your gold mine.

As I think of it all.

There is no other call.

I couldn’t have done better if I tried.

Especially with you right by my side.

Through the thick and thin.

I knew we would always win.

Having you is my greatest prize.

Loving you means never telling lies.

I thank God for being there all the time.—–R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

God Works In Mysterious Ways

      God Works In Mysterious Ways

It was in the evening when I got to town.

The local watering hole was having a big ‘ho down.’

Cars were parked up and down the street.

Looked like a good place to find someone to meet.

The place was packed. No cover charge.

Lots of rednecks were up at the bar.

Several guys & girls were out on the floor.

Dancing to a live band and they wanted more.

They were whooping , hollering, & carrying on.

Dancing up a storm as the band played on.

There was one empty table over on the right.

Vacated after others were thrown out for a fight.

I told the waitress I was a peaceful man.

I avoid trouble every way that I can.

She smiled and went to get me my drink.

As she smiled I gave her a wink.

I looked around at all the others.

Seemed all the gals were with another.

I knew if I tried to horn in,

that would be when trouble would begin.

What I told the waitress, I said right. I was not looking for any fight.

Soon she returned with my drink in hand .

I said keep them coming as best you can.

I slipped her an extra large tip.

She smiled with a quiver in her lip.

Later, as she came by, she would say “Hi.”

Quickly, I caught that look in her eye.

So, I asked her when she got off.

“Right after closing time I’ll be off.”

She asked why I wanted to know?

“Coffee & food sounds good, you want to go?”

“You bet. I can hardly wait.”

Just like that I had a date.

The evening dragged on. The music was good.

The waitress treated me like she should.

Finally, the band played their last number.

People were leaving. Heading home to slumber.

The waitress came with purse in hand.

“I’ll ride with you. I usually ride with the band.”

We went to an all night coffee shop.

Got in a booth and we sat and talked.

She said her name was Candy.

I said “Super. my name is Andy.”

“The band watches out for me when they can.”

“I told them you were safe,  a peaceful man”

I laughed at that as we talked over coffee.

Then we ordered breakfast to go with the coffee.

She said she only worked on weekends.

Sometimes on holidays.—- It depends.

Most of her time she is in school.

Studying to be a Archeologist too.

I couldn’t believe what I had just heard.

The coincidence was really weird.

I had just become an Archeologist myself.

Religious Archeology was my stealth.

She was as surprised as was I.

”I couldn’t have picked a better guy.”

It seemed she was interested in religious artifacts.

“Right out of high school”, she said “That’s where it’s at.”

We spent the rest of the evening together.

I asked to see her more. She said ”In any weather.”

She finishes school this summer.

That’s when I’m leaving for a dig. What a bummer.

That is, unless she comes along.

I mean, a meeting like this can’t be wrong.

It wasn’t long & we were digging up something good.

We hadn’t left town yet, but we knew we would.

We were married before we left for the dig.

We went on our honeymoon in my old rig.

We wanted to make a great discovery.

Regardless of the work for the recovery.

If we did or didn’t could take time.

But, we both knew we already made our greatest find.

That was finding each other the way we did.

We’re sure God was leading. Praise what He did.

Romance in ‘Redneck’ Country

         Romance in ‘Redneck’ Country

Thank you Lord, it’s finally Friday night.

I got a date with Joey. He’s gonna hold me tight.

I am getting prettied up and ready to go.

Papa said “Baby, are you putting on a show?”

I said “I got a date with Joey tonight.”

He said “You mean that kid whose always gettin in fights?”

“Yes Papa, but, they weren’t his fault.” “The other kids wouldn’t stop when he said halt.”

“You don’t a be listenen to a kid like Joey.”

“Ifin he comes around I don’t want ya ta go, see.”

“Papa we’ve been through this before.”

“I’m old enough ya don’t tell me what ta do no more.”

Papa went in his room and slammed the door.

I just stood there starin at the floor.

Pretty soon I hear Joey on the porch.

He was a whistling at the horse.

I ran out and said “Let’s hit the road.”

“What’s the hurry gal? You swallow a toad?”

“Papa is mad and he might come out.”

“What’s this all about?”

“Tell ya later. I think I heard his voice.”

We were out of there laying rubber, of course.

We went to dinner then took in a dance.

What a way to start a romance.

Spinning and twirling around the floor.

Then dancing real slow. We yelled for more.

He dropped me off a little after eleven.

I went floating in the door feeling like I’d been to heaven.

Papa met me in the hall.

He was mad enough to make me bawl.

He yelled & hollered & stomped his feet.

Said if I kept this up he would toss me into the street.

I ran to my room crying all the way.

After awhile, mama came in to pray.

“Give him time dear and he will calm down.”

“Sometimes he’s more of an ass than a clown.”

“Mama, Joey’s not a bad boy”

“I know dear. Just, around papa you must be coy.”

I loved my mama. She was the best.

I often wondered why she was different than the rest.

She said ”When papa and I first met”

“My dad felt the same way. He’s still mad yet.”

“He said papa was no good.”

“Ifin I stayed with him it would come ta no good.”

“Your papa was determined ta prove him wrong.”

“That is why we have been together so long.”

“Papa sees himself when he looks at Joey.”

“When papa was young he was quite the bully.”

“You just hang in there, but be very coy.”

“I’ll talk to papa & remind him of when he was a boy.”

“In the long run it will work out.”

“Papa won’t want ta be like my dad, he will shout.”

Mama was right. I always knew she was.

Papa even gave me away because.

No matter what anyone could say.

He wasn’t like his father in law in any way.

Another Mystery Of Life

      Another Mystery Of Life?

There’s something going on. Can’t you see.

It’s right behind most every tree.

Watch out!! It might be hallowed ground.

Yet, there’s a secret to be found.

An apple hanging from a tree

eventually leads to an equation, you see.

What goes up will come down.

Keep a watch out all around.

Gather your facts & put them is order.

Maybe it will be worth a quarter.

Open your mind & see the light.

You may behold an eerie sight.

Then again, you may find out

exactly what it is all about.

The answer is there disguised as another.

I am not talking about a brother.

Just disguised as something else.

Not really seen but, always felt.

It has no color. It has no smell.

You weren’t aware until it fell.

Does it have weight? I’m not sure.

I doubt if that would be the cure.

Without it things would really change.

Our lives would never be the same.

Just another mystery of life.

Have you got the answer or have you got strife?

Avid Si Fi Fan

      Avid Si Fi Fan

I woke up with a start.

To the rapid beating of my heart.

I was in a basement cell.

My head really hurt like hell.

I was tied in a chair in the middle of the room.

I couldn’t see a lot in all the gloom.

Soon people came to the single cell door.

The light came on making my head hurt more.

The general said ”So, you finally woke up.”

Sorry about the  hit on the head with the rifle butt.

You were  using  your telepathic skills.

To stop you the ‘butt’ made you still.

You have been defying me.

I could use your skills, you see.

Sara here, has a special gift.

She can erase all memories. she does it quick.

Then I will work my gift on you.

Mind control so you will  do what I want you to.

My head hurt so bad I could barely think.

But, I got his drift in a wink.

I tried to fight my restraints.

It was no use. He said that is what he thinks.

First the general wiped all pain from my mind.

That was a real relief, just in time.

He said Sara can’t work with interfering pain.

“I don’t want any excuses that are lame.”

Sara approached with a snarl on her face.

She knew exactly what would take place.

“You will find this isn’t a game.”

“You won’t even remember your name.”

She placed her fingers on my temples.

I screamed like crazy before everything goes.

I woke up on the floor by my bed.

I think when I fell I hit my head.

I was shaking like a leaf.

I could barely get to my feet.

I had to get up so I could pee.

No one was around as far as I could see.

I went to the living room to sit for a bit.

I was still shaking thinking of it.

It was brought on by this Si Fi book.

The one I was currently reading, as I shook.

After awhile, I stopped shaking & was still.

Now, where’s that book. I have some time to kill.

If I Can’t Be Me

      If I Can’t Be Me

Should I come to the front door?

Or, you want me to go around back?

You say you want me over more.

I think it’s only to get me in the sack.

If I can’t be me.

Then how can I be with you?

The relationship started out wrong.

You took me for who I am not.

I know how to be strong.

I’m not changing for what you’ve got.

If I can’t be me.

Then how can I be with you?

If this relationship is going to last.

One of us is changing.

I have no intention of lowering my class.

It’s time for you to stop blaming.

If I can’t be me.

Then how can I be with you?

The macho stuff has to go.

It’s not the kind of thing I respond to.

I know it’s the only show you know.

Time to dig deep & learn some new moves.

If I can’t be me.

Then how can I be with you?——————R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

Boy In A Bubble

      Boy In A Bubble

Now Bobby was a smart little kid.

He never got in trouble.

That’s because he spent his life

stuck inside a bubble.

He had a deficiency with his immune system

that left him defenseless .

He could catch almost any disease

leaving him dead or  senseless.

He wondered what it would be like

if he could leave his bubble.

He knew it would probably be death.

He hoped that wouldn’t make trouble.

He felt funny one day & got all worried.

The Dr told him he was only going through puberty.

The Dr. explained it all to him.

Bobby wondered what good it was to be in puberty

trapped in a bubble like he was.

He couldn’t meet a girl

Even if his face did have fuzz.

Then, one day, a girl walked by.

She seemed to be about his age.

She was in the hospital for medical treatment.

She came back to watch as Bobby played.

They got acquainted by talking through the bubble.

She was there for something opposite of him.

One day he came out of the bubble just to be with her.

The Dr’s were shocked when they found them.

After much tests they both seemed to be cured.

After many more tests, a miracle they did find.

It seems they cured each other.

As long as they stayed together both would be fine.

This made Bobby happy. It made her happy too.

They were destined to be with one another.

A greater gift  could not be found by me or you.

She became much closer than a brother.

They became each other’s soul mates.

Then, when they were old enough, they were married.

God was a major part of their lives.

All their worries & fears He carried.

So ends the story of the boy in the bubble.

Who prayed for help from God

Such a good boy who never got in trouble

His prayers were answered in a way that was odd.
