Save Mother Earth

      Save Mother Earth

Behold, the beauty of a tree.

Then a dog has to pee.

Maybe the beauty of a sparkling brook.

Till pollution destroys the nook.

Let’s be real, there are still the forests.

Till someone starts a fire, of course.

How about a lovely blue sky.

Polluted with smog, bad enough to cry.

There are animals in nature running free.

Before they become extinct, you see.

Think of the oceans & all its life.

Till pollution kills them like a knife.

You say what is the matter with me?

The negative side is all that I see.

It is all a sign of the times.

Man is almost finished with his crime.

The crime of killing mother earth.

Now, you tell me what it’s worth?

A burned out planet that can’t support life.

I say what I say to avoid this strife.

Maybe my words will wake people up.

Stop this insanity before it erupts.

Save the earth and all life on it.

Grow up people. This is not a sonnet.

It is a brief message of the state of things.

Too bad we all don’t have wings.

So we could fly off to somewhere new.

Like the fairies do when trouble brews.

Nice fantasy thinking but, it don’t fly.

Instead of sitting around getting high.

Get out there and spread the word.

Make sure your voice is heard.

Before we reach the point of no return.

By then we will all deserve to burn.

A Land Gone But, Not Forgotten

A Land Gone But, Not Forgotten

There is a land that existed long ago.

A place where everyone would love to go.

It was like a beautiful garden.

Pure air, pure water, lovely to see.

Fruits and vegetables growing free.

The perfect temperature year around.

There was never a threatening sound.

All the animals were tame and kind.

They had your best interest in mind.

In this place, love was in the air.

There was evidence everywhere.

You could call it heaven on earth.

That is how much it was worth.

If you were outside, you couldn’t get in.

Those on the inside were safe within.

But, every paradise has its flaw.

Even this paradise had its law.

Don’t eat of the fruit of a certain tree.

Those living there were aware of it, see.

But, as fate goes, there came a day.

They ate of it. What else can I say.

They were forced to leave the garden.

Eventually, they would get a pardon.

The garden was removed from earth.

No taint of sin would touch it from the curse.

Eventually, it will be restored again.

You and I can go there within.

It is a promise God has made to us.

So, just repent and end the fuss.

Nature Does Its Thing

      Nature Does Its Thing

There is a place where we can all go.

A place where nature is the show.

Lie down & relax on a grassy slope.

Let negativity go. Increase your hope.

Look out over a lovely lake of blue.

Pine covered hills fill your view.

White puffy clouds float by.

Bringing beautiful shapes to your eye.

The sky is blue, the sun is warm.

A cool breeze is blowing this summer morn.

You’re imagination begins to drift.

Soon, your spirits begin to lift.

You are thinking of happy times.

When I was yours & you were mine.

A cloud floats by shaped like a dog.

Here comes another shaped like a frog.

Butterflies flitter among the flowers.

Today isn’t just yours, it is ours.

For I am lying here by your side.

I am still yours,—– I never lied.

You know that now and you realize.

Nothing can be better to your eyes.

Than my being here with you.

One with nature thru and thru.

We were meant to be here.

Knowing there is nothing to fear.

Our love is stronger at this point.

We are here for nature to anoint.

It is something that feels natural.

We will recall these feelings as factual.

As we lie here in each other’s arms,

nature has blessed us with all its charms.

This is a sealing moment for us both.

Our love is sealed for continual growth.

“Old Pappy Quotes”

      “Old Pappy Quotes”

When I was young I would always moan.

He would say “Don’t even ask. It’s set in stone.”

What exactly did this mean to me?

Not very much then, as you can see.

Now that I am fully grown,

I catch myself saying “It’s set in stone.”

What a thing.—–  Just pass it along.

They might as well put it in a song.

I am sure my kids think “What does that mean?”

It’s a ‘Pappy Quote.’ Your grandfather, it seems,

thought this was the answer to anything.

It was enough back then to make me scream.

But, why continue to say it today?

Is it just something that is handy to say?

Whip the tykes into line till they moan.

“Don’t even ask. It’s set in stone.”

Some things are passed on down the line.

Generation to generation, they think it’s fine.

Sayings and other things we do

that were passed on from me to you.

I could write a book of ‘Old Pappy sayings.’

Like “It ain’t worth kneeling unless you’re praying.”

‘Old Pappy’ had advice on everything.

The witticisms he would repeat were really keen.

A regular Will Rogers without a rope.

Yet, it all could give you hope.

Words to learn,—— to live by.

I miss hearing them now, I sigh.

My ‘Old Pappy’ was saying things

long before “Maverick” was even a dream.

In the old western TV show

Maverick would quote his ‘Old Pappy’, you know.

So, I catch myself doing the same.

Quoting my ‘Old Pappy.’ It’s not insane.

‘Old Pappy’ was pretty smart in his day.

He is still pretty smart.——- Even today.

A Lifetime Of Commitment

      A Lifetime Of Commitment

It was a year I will never forget.

It wasn’t much on the National net.

Yet, personally, it was a real high.

It leaves a twinkle in my eye.

It was the year we became one.

You said yes and it was done..

We have been together ever after.

If it wasn’t us, it didn’t matter.

We have had our ups and downs.

Everyone does, I have found.

Yet, the flame still burns bright .

Love carries us through each night.

Overall, one would call it average.

For us, it has been very savage.

By that, I mean we have gotten down.

Really into the love we have found.

I’m her tiger and she’s my pet.

She’s the hottest one I have met.

I would never trade her for another.

I love her like I love my mother.

With a never ending burning love.

Only surpassed by love from above.

We have been blessed in many ways.

But, the greatest of these, I must say.

Is what you have meant to me.

Without you I could never be.

I exist to fulfill all you desire.

So it will be,—– till I retire.

What is ‘Original Sin?’

      What Is ‘Original Sin?’

I might be going out on a limb,

but, do you believe in ‘original sin?’

What do I mean by ‘original sin?’

Sin that was committed way back when.

The first sin committed by man.

When Adam ate the fruit in his hand.

True, Eve took a bite of it first.

But, the human race came under a curse

when Adam took a bite of the fruit.

He knew Eve would be given the boot.

He didn’t want to be left alone.

So he ate the fruit, letting out a groan.

This act was called the ‘original sin.’

Putting a curse on the human race from within.

Each person is born with a sinful nature.

Due to this ‘original sin’ maker.

Even Jesus was born with a sinful nature.

Inherited from his mother, not his maker.

However, He DID NOT SIN, overcoming by faith.

Our example and savior. He had what it takes.

What do they mean by a sinful nature?

How much faith does it take here?

It means we tend to do bad rather than good.

It is easy for us to be misled, though it should

not be so. By faith, we can overcome.

It is the only way to defeat where we came from.

We can do nothing of our own.

Only Christ, through us, it is shown,

can overcome that ‘man of sin’ inside.

The sinful nature will always abide.

It will be there till we are translated into

that glorious body made new for you.

Once you accept Christ as your personal savior

you are His son or daughter, translated later.

So, ‘original sin’ depends on your view.

But, it is something worth looking into.

The Deception Of Rejection

      The Deception Of Rejection

Life goes on despite the depravity.

At least, I live, though you left me.

There is a thin line between misery & insanity.

I am having trouble with each, to a degree.

I cannot eat. I have no motivation.

I just sit and stare, in contemplation.

Wondering where I could have gone wrong.

Why the change when he came along?

Blaming ones self is not the answer.

I thought I had a lasting romance here.

I was wrong and am suffering now.

I have to put it behind me somehow.

It is an uphill battle but, life must go on.

I can’t even tell right from wrong.

I am so depressed my system has stalled.

Like a pirate who has been keel hauled.

I space out to find an escape from it.

To other dimensions where I would fit.

Places where people really care.

I feel like I should stay there. I swear.

Coming back here is like entering hell.

Like being trapped in a deep dark well.

Friends come around and try to help.

If they only knew how bad I felt.

Maybe they would leave me alone.

Instead, they just make me groan.

I  remember how it used to be.

Then, how it is now. I want to be free.

I can’t take much more of this.

I have to check out. Throw the switch.

Shut down this sick system for good.

Go where I can act like I should.

A place where all is love & happiness.

I’m talking about a place of eternal bliss.

Yes!! That’s the place for me.

I think I will remain there for eternity.

Better Incite Made It Right

      Better Insight Made It Right

The other day I was feeling a little down.

I did a self examination with a frown.

I found traces of romance on my heart.

The emotional scars that tore us apart.

Doors in the brain marked DO NOT ENTER.

Memories of me asking my mentor.

He said life is a series of experiences.

That bring emotions & inferior fences.

Some are heartwarming and precious.

Others are so bad, they depress us.

Become aware of all your feelings.

What led up to her leaving?

Could that result be changed

if caught early enough to refrain?

Dig deeper yet & you may find

many things that affect your mind.

Doors marked DO NOT ENTER

should be avoided said my mentor.

So, deeper still I went into my mind.

It was  frightening some of the time.

A lot of ups and downs I found.

It is amazing I am still around.

I did note I was fairly good

at learning from it all, when I should.

When I finally finished, I felt a lot better.

Then, the mail came & there was your letter.

It was not a Dear John note, thank God.

It was a makeup letter, not a fraud.

I was ready to start over again.

I called you immediately, with a grin.

We made our apologies & started over.

I have much more insight, this time over.

She had done some soul searching too.

The result is a much improved me & you.

For The Sake Of Self

      For The Sake Of Self

Things are happening that can’t be explained.

I need some logic to make it more plain.

Everything is melted down &  become one.

One is lonely but, better than none.

Bring the demon into the light.

Check it out.—– Do not fight.

Bring this mess to a screeching end.

The demon has nothing to defend.

Now, my world is rapidly expanding.

All it took was a little understanding.

A deep introspect of how it works.

Casting out all the crazy quirks.

I have learned but, it could come back.

Send this demon on a different track.

Life is good without stupid hang-ups.

My life is now beginning to line up.

Others have their demons too.

They may not know what to do.

Hopefully, they will work it out.

It is all a mess without a doubt.

Every day brings  new situations.

New people with new obligations.

Nightly, I need an introspection.

To make sure it’s the right direction.

To maintain a high functioning mental state

is a goal for me that’s become my fate.

I have to walk the straight and narrow.

Knowing, for the sake of self, be careful.

The Answer Causes Confusion

      The Answer Causes Confusion

I thought I would put my mind to the test.

I would get to the bottom of this mess.

Who thought hula hoops would be fun?

Who dreamed up bubble gum?

What color is indigo blue?

Does Braille on drive thru’s make sense to you?

Why does ice expand when you freeze it?

Why isn’t there more padding in a baseball mitt?

If your cold and you’re feet turn blue,

who cares what color is your tennis shoe?

If movie goers require tickets,

and cricket is played with wickets.

Why do stamp collectors like to lick it?

Talking bears and singing frogs

make about as much sense as a driving hog.

What does all this add up to?

Maybe it means I love you.

I have been unable to think straight

since the day I realized my fate.

It is all still a mystery to me.

How in the world could this happen to be?

You are beautiful beyond belief.

Spending time with you is a real treat.

You are the sweetest thing I know.

You are always the best of show.

Maybe it’s the fact that you love me?

The reason why, I cannot see.

I’ll have to just accept it without doubt.

There is no way to figure it out.
