Our Forefather’s Knew The Way

Our Forefathers Knew The Way

There is a room full of people

but, there is nothing inside.

Their attempt at caring is feeble.

Very few of them even cried.

It all is much too common.

Horrendous tragedies daily.

Yet, they stand there, yawning

What more is there to say?

We are barraged daily with the news.

More horrible stories and killing.

It’s all enough to give you the blues.

We could stop it, if we are willing.

But, the answer makes people upset.

They don’t want to hear about it.

Oh, how quickly they seem to forget.

Our country was founded by wit.

Our forefathers were very wise.

They saw the light and lived by it.

They saw the world open before their eyes.

The constitution was just a bit.

A small part of the wisdom they had.

They could see what would be coming.

It lasted over 200 years & I am glad.

But, today, people are running.

They don’t know what from.

They are scared and forgotten the way.

I think it is time for the ‘kingdom come.’

But, people won’t listen to what I say.

The end is coming. Nothing will stop it.

A time like there never was before.

More trouble than the daily news bit.

Unimaginable, striking right at our core.

The way out is so simple. It’s on our money.

‘Trust in God.’ It is the only way.

Those forefathers were not being funny.

They had the wisdom. They had the say.

Loss Of A Friend

      Loss Of A Friend

The Sounds Of Silence have come and gone.

Now, they’re singing a new kind of song.

A song with a message that’s gonna hurt.

They think it’s freedom but, it is just dirt.

Share your wealth with those who do not.

When the most they’ve done is blow snot.

They whine and cry and say it’s not fair.

The only thing they want is for you to share.

What has happened to the ‘American Dream?’

Capitalism is not what they say it seems.

They have corrupted all it stands for.

I fear our old way of life is out the door.

We need a savior. One with the courage

to make the changes needed in a hurry.

While there still is some ray of hope

to be seen through all the MJ smoke.

Our political system is as corrupt as the mob.

No one is motivated to go out and get a job.

Is there any chance to turn it around in time?

Soon speaking your own mind will be a crime.

I guess you just have to call it a sign of the end.

Time to say goodbye to your long lost friend.

I am talking about liberty and pursuit of happiness.

All will be gone. Only thing left will be the big ’S’.

A Million To One

      A Million To One

I was fairly new in town.

I wasn’t much into fooling around.

I drove down town for food.

I was in a pretty good mood.

I stopped into the A & W stand.

I feel like a root beer, when I can.

A sweet little honey skated up to me.

The waitresses wore roller skates, you see.

I placed an order & she gave me a wink.

I was so surprised I couldn’t think.

When my order came, there was a note

It was her name & #. Call me, she wrote.

I just looked at it, I was in shock.

It just wasn’t happening to me,—- or not.

I waited a couple of days.

Then I called her, wondering what to say.

She was apologetic for being so bold.

“I have never done that before”, she told.

“It’s the first time it’s happened to me.”

“I just can’t believe that.” She said with glee.

I said “Now that introductions are made

would go out with me? Don’t be afraid.”

She said yes and that she wasn’t scared.

She just wanted me to know she cared.

We went to dinner & to a movie.

She was as snuggly as can be.

I dropped her off & kissed her goodbye.

Leaving, I thought, not bad. I didn’t even try.

After several more dates she was my girl.

When I’m with her I get a thrill.

All summer long we were together.

We had a blast. Her name was Heather.

We did everything you could think of.

My heart was higher than the clouds above.

By autumn, it became true love. What a game.

I’ve known other girls. It wasn’t the same.

We each had Senior year of high school to do.

I was sticking with her. I was no fool.

It was one of the best years of my life.

The fact we were going steady made it just right.

After graduation we were both off to college.

If she dated others, it was without my knowledge.

After college, we had to decide.

Were we together only for the ride?

If not, we had to make serious plans.

She became mine & I became her man.

Many years later I look back at all this.

Could there have been something I had missed?

Absolutely not!! I have what I wanted.

I am glad we pushed on, undaunted.

Your Birthday

      Your Birthday

A birthday comes but once a year.

There is really nothing to fear.

A birthday means you are still alive.

If they stop it means you’ve died.

All your friends will wish you well.

They hope you are doing swell.

They say you’re as old as you feel.

Hopefully, you are still able to kneel.

Bow down and give thanks to God.

Thank Him for another year. It’s not odd.

Take time to party with friends and family.

I hope things are as good as they can be.

I always say I am as young as my mind.

I have enjoyed childhood a long, long time.

Life is what you make it to be.

Keep a positive outlook and you will see.

Wonderful things will come your way.

You will enjoy every single day.

A birthday is icing on the cake.

So make the most of it. It’s what it takes.

It is your personal holiday, just for you.

Make the most of it. I will too.

No Gamble At All

      No Gamble At All

It’s a toss of the coin. Yes or no.

Which way will you go?

It is sweeter than you’ll ever be.

On this point, we can both agree.

Drop the coin into the slot.

Take the ticket. Do it, or not.

If the ticket says “Go for it!”,

you will have to bite the bit.

Knuckle down and give it a try.

It may bring a sparkle to your eye.

I’m waiting for the answer,  by and by.

When the time has finally arrived,

will you do it and remain alive?

It is something we all want to do.

Even someone as stubborn as you.

There really is no gamble at all.

But, it must be done before the fall.

Many others have found the path.

Do not worship a golden calf.

Do what your heart is telling you.

Become a brother and/or sister too.

In the end it’s a matter of choice.

Just listen to that still, small voice.

You’ll be welcomed with open arms.

Just bring it, with all your charms.

He Dislikes The Modern Ways

      He Dislikes The Modern Ways

In modern times and modern ways

you don’t want to be a flake.

Yet, you say ‘It’s not for me.’

What is it you want it to be?

No gay marriages, no living together.

Till your married, don’t lie together.

No foul language on TV.

No sexual situations for us to see.

No disgusting magazines.

No nude pictures or anything.

No smut on the internet to see.

No pornographic sites, paid or free.

No to x-rated movies, or even R.

Keep your men out of the bars.

Ban alcohol & cigarettes.

Ban all drugs and nude silhouettes.

Treat all races as equal.

Don’t wait for the sequel.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

Don’t put down others because of their wealth.

Stop all murder, stealing, and violence.

If it’s not nice, just remain silent.

Filthy, foul language has got to go.

Become one of them in the know.

There is so much more we can do without.

That’s enough to settle any doubt.

It seems you’re talking heaven here.

Nothing else is even near.

Now you got my drift.

For this world, I’m not fit.

The End Is Nearer Than You Think

The End Is Nearer Than You Think

I’m gonna help with my own two hands.

I can cook the food, though I am a man.

Since I am here, I will help anyway I can.

I can do a lot with my own two hands.

It is a time when all should try to help.

Do all you can. Make your effort felt.

Make it so sweet, her heart will melt.

The fact that you will try is a big help.

The economy has completely collapsed.

We must live in communes. That’s a fact.

Do your share. Even if it’s to kill rats.

To put off starvation, we hunt in packs.

The community garden must grow.

It is shared by all. Eat till you’re full.

Then repay by coughing up some dough.

We will buy more seeds to grow.

Times are bad. Can you dig a latrine?

It will be used by all,—– it seems.

The sanitation that it brings

will be worth everything.

How long will this misery go on?

Been barely hanging on for so long.

Somehow, the economy MUST get strong.

If it doesn’t happen soon, I will be gone.

Yes, this could happen to you.

You could be living there soon to.

To think it can’t is to be a fool.

The end is coming for me & you.

Could It Haved Worked?

      Could It Have Worked?

I am facing a storm in my life.

I bide my time & avoid the strife.

I handle it in my usual way.

Waiting for the right time to say.

This will pass like all before it.

Time is a good repair kit.

Things like this can’t be avoided.

There is no way to destroy it.

Just take it in stride & roll along.

Things will be normal before long.

I wish you the very best.

May you find happiness.

I hope you find along your way.

Someone who will make your day.

You deserve the very best.

No reason to second guess.

Our connection caused sparks.

It really set our worlds apart.

This will pass like all before it.

Time is a good repair kit.

Things like this can’t be avoided.

There is no way to destroy it.

Just take it in stride & roll along.

Things will be normal before long.

Don’t suggest there is a way.

Don’t say it will work out o.k.

If you try to nurture  the spark.

It might ignite your heart.

The result would be tragedy.

It is not a way to be free.

It wouldn’t work out by and by.

We are too different, so don’t even try.

This will pass like all  before it.

Time is a good repair kit.

Things like this can’t be avoided.

There is no way to destroy it.

Just take it in stride & roll along.

Things will be normal before long.

She has accepted my final plea.

She has gone away from me.

If it could never work out,

Why do I feel like a roust about?

Love Is Found

      Love Is Found

Am I what you’ve been looking for?

Seems like we both have been here before.

They say I can be many things.

But, I’m not an angel with wings.

I have my faults, like everyone else.

I’ve made mistakes and taken the belts.

I am sure you have been there too.

No one wants to look like a fool.

The best I can do is to just be me.

If that is the person you want me to be,

then, we will have less problems for sure.

If you are what I need, it will occur.

This could be the start of something good.

As long as we are both open, like we should.

Any difficulties that occur can be overcome.

The sum of the two is better than one.

Once we are like a well oiled machine.

There will be no ending to you and me.

I would lay down my life for you.

Provided I know you will always be true.

I hope you feel the same about me.

Then, eternal bliss is all I can see.

We have each been on our own for awhile.

We each have learned to live in this style.

There are adjustments that need to be made.

All well worth it to have it made in the shade.

The bottom line is love conquers all.

Never doubt this. It is the law.

It is the law of the heart.

The heart of those who will never part.

We can get there, if we try.

I’m not perfect but, I am a nice guy.

Self Turn On

      Self Turn On

What makes you come alive?

Is it the way you take all in stride?

Is it mystery & adventure of life?

Is it the love you have for your wife?

If single, what turns you on?

The love of all who come along?

Do you live life on the edge?

Taking risks and pushing the hedge?

Are you the isolative type?

A good book is your biggest hype?

Do you make an effort to look for love?

Or, does it come to you, like love from above?

Do you enjoy watching others?

Wondering what it is they utter?

They mumble to themselves as they go along.

Maybe they hear voices? Could that be wrong?

Maybe you’re a TV addict?

Watching the tube, you’re really at it.

Maybe it is technical interest of any kind.

Convoluted enough to blow your mind.

Maybe gambling gives you a thrill?

Blowing your own money at your own will?

Maybe ‘hot’ cars is your turn on?

Racing a mean machine. Better than a bong.

Playing or watching sports of any kind?

That might be just what you have in mind.

Whatever it is, does it serve the need?

Is it something you want to retrieve?

Is it something that is good for you?

Or, is it something you shouldn’t do?

Self evaluation & understanding may help.

Something that will make her heart melt.

Make you someone she can look up to.

Instead of someone who only turns on you.
