Wildfire Ravings
Surrounded by wildfires for the past week.
Breathing hazardous air that really reeks.
Praying the fires don’t come this way.
It gets more stressful every day.
Hoping we don’t have to evacuate.
It’s almost more than I can take.
Everyone here feels the same.
All they are doing seems in vain.
Finally, a report of rain on the way.
It’s a week away, is all they would say.
Thousands of fire fighters from all over.
Just to keep us from pushing up clover.
35 dead with the number growing.
Many are gone with no one knowing.
Billions of dollars gone up in smoke.
It is definitely enough to make you choke.
Stress can be a killer factor.
Wondering if we will be told to scatter.
May you never have to go through this.
It is something you’d be glad to miss.
Maybe not as bad as being in hell.
But, not far off, from what I can tell.
