Evolution

      Evolution

You’ve heard the theory of evolution.

Well, let me tell you of my conclusion.

I don’t believe man came from apes.

Or a group of molecules out in space.

That came together and spun around.

Eventually becoming  earthward bound.

To land in an ocean of primordial muck.

Then evolved with a lot of luck.

And, crawled slowly, upon the shore.

Then continued to evolve some more.

Eventually, after millions of years.

To become a man with all his fears.

But I do believe in “evolution”.

It’s got to be the only solution.

When man “evolves” he won’t eat meat.

He’ll have other good things to eat.

Like vegetables, legumes, nuts, and fruit.

Berries, melons, grapes, and roots.

When man “evolves” he won’t need clothes.

He’ll have a garment of light that glows.

When man “evolves” he won’t grow old.

Immortal life will be his to hold.

In fact, man has begun to “evolve” already.

It will start to happen when you are ready.

The changes will be slow at the start.

Most of the changes will be in the heart.

You ask me where I get my facts?

They’re in the Bible, near the back.

But, read this book from cover to cover.

Then, maybe soon, you’ll discover

the changes going on in you.

Then, maybe, you can “evolve” too.

You ask me how long will it take?

How much longer will I have to wait?

It will happen in the twinkling of an eye.

When we meet Jesus in the sky.———–R. W. Johnson——–(2011)

I’ll Be There

      I’ll Be There

Never fear that you will be alone.

You know how much our love has grown.

As you walk through this savage land,

I’ll be there to hold your hand.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

You may awaken and think I’m gone.

You will worry about what went wrong.

No amount of stress can make me leave.

I’ll always be there. You must believe.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

In the darkest night I’m by your side.

Your love gives me such loving pride.

Through the roughest times of life.

I am there through all the strife

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

When you think you can’t go on.

When it seems all hope is gone.

When there is nothing left to say.

I’ll be there to save the day.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

When you feel your drowning in sin.

When you feel there is no way to win.

Turn to me and I’ll guide you through.

I’ll be there and all will be cool.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

I’ll never turn away from you.

I’ll wrap my loving arms around you.

I’ll shelter you from all harm.

Nothing can take you from my arms.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

I’ve loved you from before you were born.

I’ll love you till the day they blow that horn.

My love will go on for eternity.

Please, won’t you give yourself to me?

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.————————R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

The Story Of Sin

      The Story Of Sin

Imagine, in 6 short days creation completed.

Everything was done that was needed.

Then why was there a tree of temptation?

Freedom of choice was God’s creation.

When man was created he had this choice.

God knew they would have a voice.

Satan accused God of forcing reverence.

Man’s free will could bring severance.

But, God told Satan they will choose Him.

Despite disobedience, bringing on original sin.

Man had free will so he could choose.

If he chose God he made the right moves.

Satan would do all to make man choose wrong.

If Satan won he would have a new song.

He would say God is a tyrant.

None would dare to deny it.

But, God knew man would not fail Him.

He would provide a way for them to win.

He would die to remove their sin.

A gift to man for those who choose Him.

The final scenes of this war is future in it’s curse.

God’s people will be watched by the universe.

A time of trouble like there never was.

God’s power withdrawn from the cause.

Satan attacking with a vengeance.

God’s people standing, relentless.

Standing firm in their faith & love for God.

Choosing on their own to love only God.

Proving to the universe once & for all.

They will love God by their choice rather than fall.

They can do nothing on their own but, choose.

But, their choice will make heavenly news.

God is no tyrant, but, a God of love.

There is no greater God above.

The entire universe will be in harmony.

The love of God has set them free.

Sin will never raise its ugly head again.

Let this future world begin!!——————–R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

50 Year Reunion

      50 Year Reunion

The 50 year H S reunion has come and gone.

But, the memories will live on and on.

If you haven’t gone to one at least once in your life

you haven’t lived,—- and that ain’t right.

3 schools were involved.  That’s different than most.

But, there is a reason. Just ask the host.

All went to one school for the first 3 years.

2 new schools were built for our final year.

So  the seniors from all 3 schools were at the blast.

They all partied like animals without any past.

A lot of old cronies just having a ball.

Checking others name badges to know them at all.

Each badge had your senior picture on it.

Otherwise, no one would recognize your wit.

We were all friends, even after 50 years.

At times it could almost bring you to tears.

Even people you weren’t close to in school

now were your buddies, and that was cool.

You felt a bond after 50 years had passed.

You know what it took for each one  to last.

I saw people I thought I would never see again.

But, when seeing them, it was worth the wait until then.

Funny,  they were all old but me.

Then again, they probably felt the same,  you see.

It was a wonderful time when we grew up.

Now things are getting really tough.

We will lead the way as we go on.

We’ll stand tall cause we are strong.

Several weren’t there I’d love to see.

Some passed on way too early for me.

Those who missed lost a part of their past.

It will haunt them till the last.

For those who were there

It won’t be so hard to bare.

For we know in 5 we’ll do it again.

To miss it then would be a real sin.—————-Wayne Johnson——-(2011)

Fire And Ice

      Fire And Ice

Is living with my wife paradise?

Or, am I caught between the fire and ice?

Is she the way she supposed to be?

I often felt it wasn’t right to me.

.

The fire is an emotional outburst of explicative’s.

Now, you can see just how sick it is.

The ice is the deadly silence that follows.

Makes you feel like your hung from a gallows.

Is this paradise?

Caught between the fire and the ice.

Is this the way it supposed to be?

It just doesn’t seem right to me.

It could happen at most any time.

I don’t believe the fault is always mine.

I sometimes feel like I’ll come unglued.

But, I say no!!– I will not be fooled.

I know I’m living in paradise.

Caught between the fire and the ice.

This must be what it supposed to be.

Because I know she really loves me.———–R. W. Johnson—-(2011)

Ode To Squally

      Ode To Squally

I have an orange tabby cat.

Let me tell you this cat is fat.

He is VERY heavy in the gut.

He seems to be stuck in a rut.

He will bat your foot anytime

he doesn’t think he’s fed on time.

He is strictly an indoor cat.

So he never gets to chase a rat.

Exercise is very rare for him.

He would rather sleep than be thin.

People say he’s a mean cat.

But, he’s just lazy and he’s fat.

He doesn’t like his belly rubbed.

So people think he doesn’t want loved.

But, he’ll purr and cuddle on our laps.

Want to be petted like other cats.

He doesn’t trust strangers, so runs away.

That way he lives to eat another day.

When he jumps up you know he’s there.

His weight will really shake the chair.

He really hates to go to the vet.

Hasn’t forgiven him for the neutering yet.

He hates all  other dogs or cats.

A one cat family is where it’s at.

He tolerates a parakeet that’s in a cage.

If he gets close the bird goes into a rage.

Just keep the snacks coming and let him sleep.

Then he will be a cat that you can keep.——R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

Is There No Time?

      Is There No Time?

There  is time to do what you really want.

There is time to play, time for love,

Time  on the computer if you want.

Time to bird watch. See the dove!

Always time for whatever comes up

If not, time can be made as needed.

It’s almost like we are in a rut.

So busy you missed Him as He pleaded.

No time for God. There’s so much to do.

There is no time for me and You.

You plead and I, always, find excuses.

Don’t You ever wonder what the use is?

It seems, I always find time for others.

Why not time for my heavenly brothers?

There is time to work and pay the bills.

Time to pray only to ask for help.

Drive like crazy no matter who it kills.

Got to get there before I melt.

Pray again for cool air, if it’s His will.

Things are always done in a rush.

Run like mad to get it all done.

Yet, there’s always time enough.

It all fits in at the end of the run.

No time for God. There’s so much to do.

There is no time for me and You.

You plead and, always, I find excuses.

Don’t You ever wonder what the use is?

It seems,  I always find time for others.

Why not time for my heavenly brothers?

Time marches on and you grow older.

You wonder where all the time has gone.

You think of it all and you grow colder.

Was there something forgotten with the dawn?

Something is missing in your busy life.

You try to think just what it is.

Then, as you gaze at your lovely wife.

It’s God!!  I forgot to make me His.————R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

The Promise Is True

      The Promise Is True

There is trouble in the news.

There is trouble when you booze.

There is trouble on the home front.

There is trouble from the bone hunt.

Trouble finding a job.

Trouble keeping a job.

Trouble with people’s health.

Trouble below the belt.

Trouble is nothing new.

Trouble has been here for more than a few.

People are sick with the flu.

People don’t know what to do.

Where’s our next meal coming from.

Watch out for the person with the gun.

On and on the suffering goes.

Hurts from your head down to your toes.

So many problems. Will there ever be an end?

How much further can I bend?

There is only one ray of hope.

Trust in Him through all the smoke.

Through the suffering and the pain,

there is so much you will gain.

In the end you will raise above.

Flying high like a turtle dove.

God wants His people to have the best.

His promises say you are above the rest.

As a son or daughter of His Holy family.

He promises you all that can be.

Just be faithful and be true.

He will do the rest for you———————–R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

A Different Point Of View

      Different Point Of View

So you ask,  why people want to harm me?

Why do they want to  form an army?

They want to kill all of us Americans.

It really doesn’t seem fair of them.

They say an American belittled Mohammed.

They want to cut off his coward head.

They want their American enemy’s to pay.

They are right and we have nothing to say.

Their religious beliefs run deep.

They say they are not a bunch of sheep.

Some say end it now and nuke them to hell.

Others say the Christian way is to wish them well.

We are stuck in the middle with nowhere to turn.

Makes you feel nothing more than a worm.

But, listen. The Bible says this will happen.

Does this mean we have to take such crap then?

No, we let our God handle it.

We follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

They may say or do as they want.

They will not decrease our faith with taunts.

In the end TRUTH will raise above.

Victorious, due to the shedding His blood.

Keep the faith I say to you.

Just let them act the fool.

Our God is bigger. Our God is stronger.

In the end we will fear no longer.

Eternal life will be ours to share

with other Christian believers everywhere.

All In A Day

      All In A Day

As I lie awake  in bed,

It’s late at night; the world is dead.

The lights are out. There’s dark all round.

My sweet wife’s near me sleeping sound.

As I toss and turn within this bed,

These thoughts are running through my head.

My thoughts return to yesterday,

Of things I did and didn’t say.

Of things tomorrow we need to do.

Like gardening and housework too.

Then my mind thinks of the past.

Of happy times that made me laugh.

My thoughts return to childhood days.

Of mom and dad —and games we played.

Like riding bikes, hide and seek,

And going swimming in the creek.

There was childhood mischief now and then.

With my dog and I and several friends.

Yes, I think of those times again.

Those were happy times back then.

My friends and I had plans and schemes

And all the usual childhood dreams.

But, as my thoughts return to now,

I find my life has changed somehow.

I remember not so long ago.

The daily routine of life was dull.

Just work, sleep, and pay the bills.

Not much in the way of thrills.

I found myself thinking now and then:

I wish I were a kid again.

But, now I find my life has changed.

No more dullness now remains!

What happened was we asked to be saved.

By that I mean we knelt and prayed.

We asked the Lord to forgive our sins.

We opened up our hearts to him.

We were baptized and joined the church.

Now we both put Jesus first.

Our daily routine has not changed much.

Most of the changes went on in us.

We still work, sleep, and pay the bills.

But, now our lives are full of thrills!

Were teaching others to give them light,

And we say a prayer to God each night.

We ask for help to be more like Him.

We ask forgiveness for any sins.

I give thanks for I am happy within.

I no longer wish to be a kid again.

Now I can have those plans and schemes.

And all those other childhood dreams.

For my fondest wishes may now come true.

When Jesus comes for me and you.———–R. W. Johnson—-(1995)
