Soul Searching

Soul Searching

You are always going from town to town.
One job to another. Whatever you found.
No permanent roots. It was not your thing.
You were not really into anything.

Just not ready yet to settle down.
You still kept one foot on the ground.
Paycheck to paycheck was your thing.
You weren’t looking for a wedding ring.

Oh,—Have you wondered about it at all?
Are you worried about a fall?
Those odd feelings that you sometimes get.
Those feelings that you cannot forget.
Are they almost like a pain to you?
Yet, there is never any follow through.

You decided to make a different fate.
So, you moved to a different state.
Different people, different jobs.
Yet, you were still feeling odd.

You’re like someone waiting for a call.
But, there is nothing out there at all.
You’re inner self has needs to fulfill.
Yet, you have resisted it with your will.

Oh,—Have you wondered about it at all?
Are you worried about a fall?
Those odd feelings that you sometimes get.
Those feelings that you cannot forget.
Are they almost like a pain to you?
Yet, there is never any follow through.

Could that feeling be loneliness?
No close relations can lead to this.
Do you feel that something is missing?
Is there anything that feels uplifting?

Do you ever feel incomplete?
Are you searching for a special treat?
Do you think you can bring it around?
By continuing to roam from town to town?

Oh,—Have you wondered about it all?
Are you worried about a fall?
Those odd feelings that you sometimes get.
Those feelings that you cannot forget.
Are they almost like a pain to you?
Yet, there is never any follow through.

Running From The Demons

Running From The Demons

I was doing what I usually do.
Living my life the way I wanted to.
Some say I was wild, out of control.
Others said I was just feeling low.

I say neither of them are right.
I want all I can get out of life.
You only live once. Do it right.
Live to the limit with all your might.

I am running, running from the demons.
Sometimes I end up just screaming.
I just go on without any feeling.
I am running, running from the demons.

I don’t know what brought me here.
I arrived with little to fear.
Why go on when there is nothing for you?
It is something I just have to do.

I’ve been doing this all my life.
I feel the pain, like from a knife.
It often reaches deep in my heart.
Trying its best to rip me apart.

I am running, running from the demons.
Sometimes I end up just screaming.
I just go on without any feeling.
I am running, running from the demons.

Mostly, I am numb to the pain.
If not,—– I will go insane.
Another gamble, another dare.
To most, it would be a scare.

I have tried to figure out why.
If I keep on, then I will die.
There has to be a better way.
I hope I will find it someday.

I am running, running from the demons.
Sometimes, I end up just screaming.
I just go on, without any feeling.
I am running, running from the demons.

Georgia Has It All

Georgia Has It All

On the roam and ended up in Georgia.
I like the pretty colors here in the fall.
It seems I’ve made it to heaven before ya.
Sitting here waiting for you to finally call.

I will no longer be running around.
All I need is for you to join me.
I like it here enough to settle down.
Together we can live a life that’s free.

I kept my sleeping bag rolled up behind your couch.
I knew I couldn’t stay in one place for long.
This rambling man just had to move along.
I knew when I left you would start to pout.
My love for you was hanging by a song.
It was only a matter of time till I was gone.

Georgia has made a change in me.
I feel like I’m ready to stick around.
All I need now is for you to see.
My two feet are finally on the ground.

This old ranch house is like a long lost friend.
Nestled here in the woods that I call home.
It’s the closest place to heaven I’ve ever been.
Only thing missing is my angel all alone.

You said you would always love me.
You would wait till I was ready.
That time is now, can’t you see.
I am ready. Ready, ready Teddy.

I kept my sleeping bag rolled up behind your couch.
I knew I couldn’t stay in one place for long.
This rambling man just had to move along.
I knew when I left you would start to pout.
My love for you was hanging by a song.
It was only a matter of time till I was gone.

The Other Side

The Other Side

I felt like the walls were closing in.
How the hell did all this begin?
I have to break through to the other side.
Then, I have to find a place to hide.
It is dark. I have to break through to light.
I will try with all my might.

You can run and you can hide.
It won’t help because you know he lied.
But, you will know at least you tried.
You have to break through to the other side.

It happened on that horrible day.
That day that I tried to run away.
He had me, there was no escape.
What he did was worse than rape.
Must break away to the other side.
It’s the only way to save my hide.

You can run and you can hide.
It won’t help because you know he lied.
But, you will know at least you tried.
You have to break through to the other side.

They say I had a psychotic break.
They say it was more than I can take.
You needed a way to get away.
Your mind escaped the easy way.
A mind excursion, what a ride.
I finally broke through to the other side.

Just The Way You Are

        Just The Way You Are

First time I met you long ago.

Somehow I felt you needed to know.

I like you just the way you are.

A country girl who’s doing fine.

I like being with you all the time.

I like you just the way you are.

The years have passed until today.

Somewhere we went on our own way.

I often thought of you from afar.

Now you’ve come back home to me.

You’re as beautiful as can be.

I like you just the way you are.

Not much has changed between us two.

I still love spending time with you.

I like you just the way you are.

Now we both have become as one.

All the fun has just begun.

I like us just the way we are.

What Goes Around Comes Around

     What Goes Around Comes Around

The time for you has finally come.

Time to confess what you have done.

You have dodged the bullet long enough.

There is no where you can run.

You feel the bottom fell out for you.

There is nothing else that you can do.

You’re a diamond still in the rough.

But, you have been acting like a fool.

Oh, oh, it is coming down.

It is falling all around.

The sunsets are turning gray.

Nothing left, except to pray.

There is no longer a way out.

Should have taken a different route.

It is hard to take all the blame.

It will really put you to shame.

Is there anything to be done??

You were not the only one.

I remember the day, oh, so well.

Wrong choice made.. Who could tell?

Once it’s made, you can’t turn back.

After that your life is hell.

You want to go back again.

Try not to make that sin.

Shouldn’t have went to that shack.

There is no way now to win.

The Love Assassin

The Love Assassin

I am an assassin of the heart.

I’ve done it again. Not so smart.

Blood on my hands tell the tale.

I try to stop—– to no avail.

My life has been one slaughter after another.

I rip and tear their hearts asunder.

Leaving nothing, but a bleeding heart.

Despite the fact it is tearing me apart.

My intentions are always good.

I am acting like I should.

Then, suddenly, there is a change.

I become the assassin of pain.

When things seem to be working out.

I sabotage it, without a doubt.

It seems I have a fear of success.

Yet, that’s what I want, I confess.

My life has been one slaughter after another.

I rip and tear hearts asunder.

Leaving nothing, but a bleeding heart.

Despite the fact it’s tearing me apart.

Will I always be an assassin?

It certainly is not my passion.

Yet, I can’t seem to help myself.

I am crying.—– I need help.

Blue Pinto

           Blue Pinto

He painted his Pinto blue.

The color of eyes, like you.

Valarie, oh oh.

Contare, oh oh oh oh.

No greater love a man can do,

Than to paint his Pinto blue.

And he did it just for you.

It’s blue, the Pinto is blue.

Let us fly way up to the clouds.

Away from the maddening clouds.

The Pinto can fly like the wind.

Depending on who is within.

He painted his Pinto blue.

The color of eyes, like you.

Valarie, oh oh.

Contare, oh oh oh oh

This is what it comes down to.

The day he painted his Pinto blue.

He has dedicated his life to you.

He is in love. What more could he do?

Just remember, when you’re with him.

This wasn’t just a plan on a whim.

A blue Pinto says it all.

Pride often goes before a fall.

He painted his Pinto blue.

The color of eyes, like you.

Valarie oh oh

Contare oh oh oh oh.

You And I

 You And I

This I know.

It’s very clear.

I am happy

when you’re near.

I can’t wait

till the day.

You say you’re mine.

We’re on our way.

Just a little time to call our own.

Before too long, we’ll buy a home.

Then we will have a child or two.

At least one, I’ll name after you.

Before long will come the day.

When we’ll both say it’s o.k.

When you’re near

I’m on cloud nine.

I don’t care

If it’s all the time.

When I try

to think it through.

Every thing

ends with you.

Just a little time to call our own.

Before too long, we’ll buy a home.

Then we’ll have a child or two.

At least one, I’ll name after you.

Before long will come the day.

When we’ll both say it’s o.k.

Maggie May, Part II

                  Maggie May, Part II

Oh, Maggie, I finally got on back to school.

But, I still had to keep coming home to you.

I am at school while you are at work.

When home, first thing, you rip off my shirt.

Time away makes you horny. What a quirk.

I always secretly hoped we could make this work.

For sexual desire, you’re second to none.

But, you never want to go out just for fun.

Maggie May, I finally got back in school.

But, I can’t seem to get away from you.

You pull me in with your sexual ways.

We don’t save it for the rainy days.

Your sexual drive never runs low.

Though you’re older, you’re ready to go.

It takes all I have to keep up with you.

Cougars are powerful. I may be a fool.

Maggie, this may sound a little odd to you.

But, life has more to offer than sex and school.

It seems you are only interested in the one thing.

I would like to find out what else life can bring.

Other guys say I’m the luckiest man alive.

Finding a woman with your sex drive.

They don’t know what I really want to do,

is to be brave enough to walk out on you.

Maggie May, I finally got  back in school.

But, I can’t seem to get away from you.

You pull me in with your sexual ways.

We don’t save it for the rainy days.

Your sexual drive never runs low.

Though, you’re older, you’re ready to go.

It takes all I have to keep up with you.

Cougars are powerful. I may be a fool.
