A Change Coming On

A Change Coming On

I don’t want to let you down.
But, I know I am hell bound.
I wear my jeans too tight.
I often get into fights.

The demons drive me on.
Look around & I am gone.
I run with the wrong crowd.
I would never make you proud.

I doubt I can change my ways.
I’m bad to the bone every day.
I smoke drink, & do any drugs.
I punch cops in the mug.

I’ve been in and out of jail.
Just remember; I am a male.
I talk tough & walk the line.
I never back down. Not one time.

Am I to take this off, like a dirty shirt?
Change my ways, despite the hurt?
Straighten up and fly right.
Don’t be the stranger in the night?

I can only do it for a cause.
A belief that is strong, without pause.
That belief could be you.
I believe you could be true.

Your love is worth the effort.
Knowing I would no longer get hurt.
Achieving a love once thought a dream.
You and I as one is what I mean.

If you are there, I will not be square.
I am the one who will always be there.
I will be honest, faithful and true.
I would do this and more for you.

Change Of Plans

Change Of Plans

I got $80 and change in my pocket.
I will soon be outta here, like a rocket.
I will hit the road & just knock around.
I have no idea just where I am bound.
I check my phone. I have a message.
I am surprised. It is from Jessie.
She says she wants to see me.
Things had never gotten that far, you see.
I was interested, but she wasn’t sure.
She mainly wanted to keep things pure.
Now, this puts me in a bind.
Do I go and leave her behind?
Or, do I stick around and answer her?
I have no idea what would occur?
I finally think: I have nothing in mind.
I will return her message this time.
I call to ask her what’s up?
She won’t answer, would be my luck.
She acted surprised & relieved too.
But, said “I wanted to meet with you.”
“I have something I want to say.”
“It would be better if it was today.”
I said “O.K., I’ll be right over.”
She lived across town on Dover.
I was there in about 10 minutes.
She came out to meet me with finesse.
She hopped in and snuggled close.
Said she missed me more than most.
Said she was ‘involved’ in the past.
But, all that was behind her, at last.
She felt she wasn’t being fair to me.
She did really like me, as I should now see.
I was surprised to hear all this.
But, I was glad I was here to enjoy the bliss.
She said she hoped I wouldn’t put her down.
I guess you know I stayed around.

A Short Look At Health

A Short Look At Health

I decided it is time to get healthy.
So I did a bunch of research to see.
I found I needed moderate exercise.
7-8 hours of sleep before I arise.
Major changes to my eating habits.
I would have to eat more like a rabbit.
If it came from God, it is okay.
If processed, discard, without delay.
Eat only grass fed dairy products.
Go organic is part of the process.
Most meats are perfectly fine.
Always keep ‘grass fed’ in mind.
Eggs from ‘free range’ chickens.
Wrong oil is worse than the dickens.
No trans fat. No vegetable oil.
Nothing rancid or that will spoil.
Coconut, olive, macadamia nut oils.
All are good. Less likely to spoil.
Forbid wheat, gluten, or grains.
They will cause you Arthritic pain.
Not to mention celiac disease.
Play it safe, if you please.
Avoid all types of sugar at all cost.
Use of honey or Stevia is not lost.
Artificial sweeteners are not worth it.
Don’t take the chance. Don’t take the risk.
Look into all of this on your own.
In time, your knowledge will have grown.
You will see the wisdom in all this.
Then do likewise. Start feeling really fit.

Camdon: The Place To Be

Camdon: The Place To Be

The city is a busy place.
Filled with people of every race.
There is crime and pollution too.
But, there is also love for you.

As for me: I’d rather be in Camdon.

The country is peaceful as can be.
It is a place that you should see.
Farms with animals and crops.
The Farmer’s Market is really  tops.

As for me: I’d rather be in Camdon.

The ocean is the place to be.
Quiet and peaceful upon the sea.
The salt air, that is allergy free.
Take a cruise and you will see.

As for me: I’d rather be in Camdon.

The North woods are quite a sight.
In winter or summer, it seems just right.
Lots and lots of beautiful trees.
Lots of wildlife & a pine scented breeze.

As for me: I’d rather be in Camdon.

The desert is beautiful in its own way.
It has beautiful sunsets every day.
Life is limited, but it is there.
You can find it almost everywhere.

As for me: I’d rather be in Camdon.

Camdon is the place for me.
It is a place where you can be free.
Peaceful & beautiful, year around.
It is also mythical, I have found.

When Man Plays God

Let’s talk about something new.
You have heard of the common flu.
But, have you heard of flu from hell?
Made in a lab by—–I won’t tell.

Stephen King’s “The Stand” is here.
There is much for us to fear.
It will spread like wild fire.
Destroying all. I’m not a liar

It could be released at any time.
Rapidly killing what’s yours & mine.
One percent may be immune.
If you’re lucky, or on the moon.

It won’t be a pleasant way to go.
It will be fast, at least. Not slow.
Very painful, to say the least.
No protection from ‘the beast.’

Is this what the world is coming to?
I would take action, if I were you.
Do all you can to prevent such a thing.
Make people aware of what it can bring.

Don’t let man destroy himself.
By an act of stupidity. What else?
When man plays God the result is bad.
The end result is always sad.

It’s true. Pride goes before a fall.
Man is the proudest race of all.
But, there is limits to what man can do.
The end result will be the end of you.

Rebel Rouser

There has got to be a hero today.
Someone who will listen to what they say.
Someone who will stand up to the fight.
Someone who fight for the right.
Yet, there is not always someone who will.
Just keep pumping the old rumor mill.
What it takes is everyone together.
She said she will lead, if we let her.
But, it must be a group effort to succeed.
Every single person is what we need.
We have a strong reason to believe.
No, we have not been smoking weed.
It is the principle of the whole thing.
It is what each one of us bring.
If enough believe, we can change the world.
If belief leads to action, I am thrilled.
Action will lead to bringing about change.
Change is what is needed, we claim.
Out with the old, in with the new.
It will lead to something good for you.
So come on board and voice your opinion.
The worst that can happen is dissension.
But, even that will cause people to think.
There is a better way. The current way stinks.
Call me a radical, because I stir the pot.
It is better than nothing. Is it not??
Come on folks. It’s time for a better way.
It is time to make it a better day.

Being The Man

Being The Man

A time comes in every life
when it’s time to put away the strife.
Time to knuckle down and under.
Have your fun without the plunder.
Be a respectful citizen.
Do whatever it takes to win.
But, in a way that is fair to all.
Don’t be a tyrant before the fall.
In the end, it comes back to you.
You will be respected too.
You will be a giant in the community.
This is good. It is not lunacy.
Strive to be a man among men.
You will always be remembered then.
Your legacy will be very great.
Though, your glory may come too late.
You won’t be a black mark in history.
But, someone who all will want to be.
Take pride in all that you do.
I know, it won’t mean much to you.
But, many others will benefit.
Others, who will copy your wit.
They will make their marks too.
And it all will have started with you.

Ode to 2016

2016 is finally here.
Don’t know if I should cry or cheer.
Things look rough in the world right now.
Yet, I feel we will make it through somehow.
Things could be worse. They could always be better.
I still have family. We still get together.
My health is fair. Working to improve it.
You value your health, the older you get.
I hope your new year is great.
Still, be sure to not tempt fate.
Make sure your religious life is in order.
Things indicate we are on the border.
I don’t want to preach gloom and doom.
I hope love in your life will bloom.
Whatever is in store, keep the faith.
Make the right choice before it’s too late.
Be thankful for all you have every day.
Have a great year is all I can say.

This time of year is an amazing thing.
It is a time when many hearts sing.
The love of Christmas is here.
Even though there is much to fear.
It is a time for brotherly love.

It is a time to give good cheer.
So tighten your belt and do your best.
Family is the most important thing yet.
