High Hopes

High Hopes

It feels like lightening running through my veins.
Every time you look at me that way, it’s the same.
It could be magic or animal attraction for me.
Whatever it is, I like it, whatever it seems to be.
I don’t know if you are aware of all of this.
Of how you send me into a passion of bliss.
I only pray I am doing the same to you.
If it is no, it could break my heart in two.
But, every indication says the answer is yes.
You have set me apart from all the rest.
I have the feeling I’m into something good.
For once, my love life may turn out like it should.
The little things mean so much to me.
They make me happy and make me free.
I want to soar, like a kite in a strong wind.
I know, inside, you are much more than a friend.
Where this is going, I have no idea.
I am in for the ride & want to still see ya.
If it works out we will both be in 7th heaven.
One complimenting the other like yeast & leaven.
What better way to spend our day,
than doing everything our way.
As the wind whistles through the trees,
so my thoughts are saying please.
Please let this be what I am hoping for.
Then, we will be together forever more.

Past References

I have this feeling that this is wrong.
Long, I’ve waited for you to come along.
When you arrived I was filled with delight.
I said “Thank you God”, with all my might.

Yet, there’s something I have to know?
I am not sure where this is going to go.
True, I prayed for an answer to my dreams.
You appeared to be the one, or so it seemed.

Still, certain things don’t seem to be just right.
Many times you seemed to be ready to fight.
Your defenses were set on high most of the time.
No need for that if you are really mine.

You came with scars and baggage too.
There was a lot that you’ve been through.
So much so it predicts how you are.
You are reacting to the emotional scars.

It is a new game now. Things have changed.
“Different place, different time,” I explain.
Don’t let your past rule your feelings for me.
We have a totally new thing going, you see.

We should set our own path now.
Together we can do it somehow.
The two of us can be as one.
The trip will be, oh so fun.

Then my dreams & prayers can come true.
Not only for me, but also for you.
Forget the past. This won’t be the same.
There is nothing to lose & so much to gain.

Conscience Talking

Conscience Talking

Wherever you go, I will know.
No one steals away my show.
I will always be right behind.
Never try to run. I am not blind.

I will always follow where you go.
A lot of things keep me in the know.
I’m not a stalker and not a leach.
Listen to exactly what I preach.

I can keep you from all wrong.
Look around, but I won’t be gone.
I am always there to guide.
To prompt, push and confide.

You can never run away from you.
It makes no difference what you do.
I am your conscience. Your inner soul.
To follow me should be your goal.

Without a conscience you’re a lost soul.
I’m always there to help you know.
I will guide you down the right path.
Without me you lose. Do the math.

Unusual Bigfoot Sighting

Unusual Bigfoot Sighting

We heard the stories of sightings.
We wanted to do the right things.
Bigfoot has been seen in many places.
Where his foot print is, there his face is.

We set out with all our supplies.
The beautiful Northwest before our eyes.
Somewhere out there Bigfoot was seen.
We just hoped he wasn’t mean.

Two weeks later and no luck yet.
What would we do if we met?
We did find some Bigfoot tracks.
We searched high & low for the facts.

Then, our persistence paid off.
We saw Bigfoot & he was wroth.
He took off with us on his trail.
It was hard, but we kept on his tail.

Then, we saw him standing in a meadow.
What he was up to, we still didn’t know.
Then, we saw a UFO coming down.
It settled by Bigfoot, on the ground.

Bigfoot walked over and got on board.
The hatch closed & we were abhorred.
The UFO lifted from the site.
In no time, it was out of sight.

We lucked out & got it all on film.
Close ups & all, from our drone.
Will he be coming back soon?
We can hope. It was only noon.

Bragging, Or Conceited??

Bragging, Or Conceited??

I have traveled far and near.
Being alone, I never fear.
Girls come to me like flies to honey.
No, I don’t have a lot of money.
They just want to be near me.
They know I like to be free.
They may leave, but soon come back.
They know I am where it’s at.
I save them from loneliness.
They long for my sweet caress.
They will do most anything.
To be around the joy I bring.
I don’t have to give them a line.
I don’t play games. I don’t have time.
I always tell them like it is.
They will stay, just for a kiss.
I have had this power over women
since I was just a young one.
Women come and women go.
Yet they want me in their show.
I’m not sure what they see in me.
If I knew I’d let it be.
Such a life is so rewarding.
I don’t have to feel I’m hoarding.
I can be free with my love anytime.
I can make any girl I want mine.
No, I am not bragging nor conceited.
It has been too often repeated.
This is just the way it is.
Still women say: “I want to be his.”
Maybe I should write a book.
I am sure many men would take a look.
Yet, it is nothing I can explain.
I was born this way, but it’s not a pain.

Get To The Point

Get To The Point

Enough of the small talk.
It is time to get down to basics.
I don’t want to hear you squawk.
Let’s not make this like a matrix.

Time to get down to the brass tacks.
No more beating around the bush.
No more waiting for it to pass.
Time to get up off your tush.

No more stalling and excuses.
Time to get to the heart of things.
Follow the path to where the moose is.
Face the music, like you had wings.

Time to get down and bite the bullet.
It is time to get to the point.
No more acting like you already know it.
Don’t get pushed all out of joint.

Put your money where your mouth is.
Time to pay the piper, so to speak.
No time out to take a wiz.
Stand tall and quit feeling weak.

We have faced it 100 times before.
We must be strong & face it again.
Don’t try sneaking out the door.
Are you a wimp or a real friend.

Time to get down and dirty.
Time to get down to the nitty gritty.
No more ducking out like a dirty birdy.
The end result may not be pretty.

Time to take one and wrap it up.
Time to put an end to it all.
What do you mean I should shut up?
It is time you fess up to what you saw.

Gobbly Gunk

Gobbly Gunk

Sit down and turn around.
Plant your tomatoes in the ground.
Get up and shake it off.
You know pigs eat from a troth.
Stir it up and shake it down.
This is no place for a clown.
Were you born standing up?
Did they smack you on the butt?
It can be fun with another.
Someone other than your brother.
I had a dream the other night.
The sight of you gave me a fright.
If spirits are real, what about ghosts?
Who eats the fastest gets the most.
The A, B, C’s of you and me.
What you get is what you see.
Have you tried kissing in the dark?
Sometimes it is not too smart.
Try to bend down & touch your toes.
Knees straight. Don’t wrinkle your hose.
I must say, today is dragging.
But, I’ll survive. I am not bragging.
The last boy was different than me.
He was not insane, you see.
Diamond Mountain is the place to go.
No diamonds, but lots of weeds grow.
This poem is an insane piece of crap.
You’re not alone in thinking that.
So, guess I’d better end it now.
Before some reader has a cow.

Health Lesson Learned Late

Health Lesson Learned Late.

Across town, I had to go.
I wanted to see a show.
The theater was over there.
But, really didn’t care.

It was a little out of my way.
Still, I drove by there every day.
My girl lived right near there.
I would always slow & stare.

Stare at the theater parking lot.
Roach Trucks parked on that spot.
I tried to see if she was there.
She ate there often, without a care.

We had talked about the risk of that.
Sometimes it was almost a spat.
I wouldn’t touch any of that food.
I felt it was prepared pretty crude.

But, that never bothered her.
She felt it was safe. That’s for sure.
Luckily, she never got sick.
Yet, I would not even touch it.

I was a health nut, to be sure.
Sort of fussy, as it were.
I only ate certain things.
She thought it was all beans.

Beans was not what I ate.
I ate veggies, fruit, and steak.
I avoided sugar and wheat.
I wouldn’t eat it if it was sweet.

Enough of that. We went to the show.
She wanted popcorn. Here we go.
With butter and a soda too.
I said “This is not for you.”

So, the fight over food began again.
It spoiled the movie, so I gave in.
I only ate nuts and drank water.
She said: “You eat like an otter.”

I didn’t disagree to prevent a fight.
She said her popcorn was light.
I disagreed, but kept quiet.
I didn’t want to start a riot.

After the movie, we went for dinner.
I took her to a place I called a winner.
She hardly even touched her meal.
It was healthy. A real deal.

Then she wanted to stop at Dunkin Donuts.
Said she wanted to get some cronuts.
Said that would be her dessert.
I said “No,” for what it’s worth.

Time goes by, like it always does.
She isn’t my girl now, just because.
My health is fine & I’m feeling good.
She is fat & not feeling like she should.

While with me she didn’t learn a thing.
Always thought I was being mean.
Now, she admits I may have been right.
For her to shape up will be a real fight.

Reptilian City Discovered?

Reptilian City Discovered?

He was lost in the jungle.
He was all alone.
All he owned was in his bundle.
He didn’t even have a phone.
How he got here, he didn’t know.
He knew where he was from.
He knew his head took a blow.
Then, memories started to come.
A plane crash. Just jungle below.
He knew they were going to crash.
Everyone was killed, except him.
He had a bump & a minor slash.
He didn’t know which way to go.
He would keep heading downhill.
His water supply was running low.
For 2 days, he had been going on will.
Then, he heard the river he came upon.
Big rapids, rough, dropping fast.
He got water & tried to follow the river on.
It entered a narrow canyon pass.
He found a narrow ledge he could use.
He proceeded very carefully.
Soon, he came upon a cave. Good news.
The opening was very narrow, you see.
He went in and got the shock of his life.
He had proceeded down pretty far.
What he saw was a shocking sight.
He saw what looked like a little car.
Soon, he saw creatures: reptilian?
Like large upright lizards from afar.
They had a city of maybe a million.
He didn’t wait to see anymore.
He ran out as fast as he could.
Followed the river till he found a shore.
Rigged a raft made out of wood.
Sailed the river to civilization.
Got transportation to an airport.
Finally, he got back to his nation.

He had something big to report
He reported the story of his find.
It didn’t get a good reception.
They thought he had lost his mind.
Only one person took an exception.
A scientist who believed his story.
He was ready to forget it all.
No one would take him seriously.
Then the scientist made his call.
“Tell me more about your find,” curiously.
He told the scientist all he knew.
The scientist got real excited about it.
He said “I know you’re not a fool”
“I couldn’t find proof. It made me sick.”
“I have had a theory about reptilians.”
“ What you have found should do the trick.”
“We will bring back proof worth millions.”
“We? What are you talking about?”
“A trip back to the cave to get proof.”
”Are you nuts? I’m not going!!”, I shout.
“The fame & money will be big loot.”
The scientist said with a pout.
“I will even throw in my share to boot.”
In the end, plans were made to go.
He wondered how he was talked into this.
He thought about being called wacko.
He decided to put an end to this.
They left on the 23rd of March.
Headed for the Amazon jungle.
Most people thought it was just a lark.
They said to have fun though.
They were never heard from again.
The story lives on to this very day.
Were they caught by lizards, or men?
No one could ever really say.

Don’t Wait, Act Now!!

Don’t Wait, Act Now!!

Long ago, when I was a kid.
I use to explore all around.
A country boy, I often hid.
It was hard for me to be found.

We played hide and seek.
One of our primary things.
I would hide by the creek.
I disappeared, like I had wings.

Others would search for hours.
They never found me at all.
I climbed up in the bowers.
Then I prayed I wouldn’t fall.

They never looked up for me.
They looked on the ground.
If they looked up, they would see.
Then I would finally be found.

That never happened, even once.
It is like a lot of people today.
They go around, like in a funk.
Never looking up so they could say.

“Eureka!!,—– I have found it.”
They would realize where we are.
They would start using their wit.
Changing things, making it better by far.

“Look up, for your redemption draweth neigh.”
Does it sound familiar to you?
More truth in this than meets the eye.
Time to look up. Don’t be a fool.

Wake up and smell the roses.
Your world is disintegrating around you.
Do you have to be beat with rubber hoses?
Wake up, there is so much you can do.

Things could improve in every way.
If people would just look up and see.
If they would listen to what I say.
Things could be better for you and me.

Stop, look, and listen to it all.
There is still a little time.
Don’t wait till after the fall.
Then think you have lost your mind.

There is a way, but we must all act.
The ostrich syndrome won’t work .
We must come together, it’s a fact.
Be assertive, just like Captain Kirk.
