Computer Love

Computer Love

I have to admit, I am sorry for her.

She’s gone through a wringer, that’s for sure.

Romantically speaking, she was wrung dry.

Not a tear left in her eye.

Computer love is not the way to go.

Even if you take it real slow.

Don’t believe what you see.

What you hear won’t set you free.

It will set you up for a fall.

A broken heart and that ain’t all.

After it all, she come undun.

Her life was no longer any fun.

She was burnt to the very core.

A crispy critter and no more.

It will take years to recover, if at all.

Her self worth has become very small.

Her heart has been hung out to dry.

It has shriveled up and said bye, bye.

If you fix broken hearts, you know you can.

Prepare for a lifetime job.—– Be a man.

She may never be ‘her’ again.

Yet, maybe, her heart can mend.

Only time and love can tell.

If she’s worth it, give it hell.

Fable, Or Not?

Fable, Or Not?

I took a trip to Sweden.

I heard it was like Eden.

I heard of trolls and gnomes.

Both were small when fully grown.

There were giants and other things.

Always mentioned, but never seen.

Shapeshifters were Mentioned too.

Locals always said it was true.

I decided to search for one.

I thought, maybe, it would be fun.

Locals warned me away from this.

I would earn a deadly kiss.

They didn’t want to be found.

They didn’t want people around.

They knew magic and I did not.

If I survived, it would be a shock.

I thought it was all  a fable.

This I intended to prove, if able.

I went to where one was seen.

Nothing there, except meadows green.

I set up a camera to get a picture.

A trail cam. There was no hitch here.

A week later,—-I had pictures.

All were animals. No hitch here.

Except for one I can’t explain.

Looked like an old dwarf. Am I insane?

There was no dwarf in the area.

They said stop looking. It will spare ya.

I kept searching for several weeks.

I searched valleys. Even along creeks.

Nothing ever turned up again.

True or not, it would depend

on if you believed in them or not.

The locals believed. The entire lot.

As for me, I’m not so sure.

A dwarf dressed in fur?

That seemed reasonable to me.

But then, all is not what it seemed to be.

All That Life Can Be

             All That Life Can Be

I am getting closer to the end of time.

I just wish that you were mine.

We are all on that road to kingdom come.

I wish you were with me having fun.

It could be doom and gloom, or glory.

I would love it if you’d share my story.

We could avoid all the dead ends.

What our future would be would depend.

Someone is watching all that we do.

They would love it if I were with you.

For every start there is an end.

You could be much more than a friend.

Together until the end of time.

The greatest love we both could find.

Why waste another second of it.

Make the most of all we can get.

We have to write our own history.

What it will be is a mystery.

But, most of all, it’ll have a happy ending.

Because we started with the right beginning.

Insight From Within

           Insight From Within

He was an average kid in every way.

Nothing special about him to say.

He had average height and build.

He was no one’s dream fulfilled.

Average looks that drew no attention.

Possibly cute in another dimension.

There was one thing he was good at.

Meditation. He was the best. It’s a fact.

He would go deep into a trance.

You might think him asleep at a glance.

He would release his inner self.

Become aware of things beyond itself.

He was suddenly in an all white room.

He heard a voice, like the sound of doom.

You have been chosen to be here”

Let me make that very clear”

All here is controlled by your mind”

We will guide you in all you find.”

You can have a one way ticket to yesterday.”

They become real, the video games you play”

You can become big or you can be small”

A hero, a fighter, a lover, you are them all”

It is real. It is not a dream”

Though, right now, that is how it may seem”

Thru all this, you will learn who you are”

If you are who we think you are,

you will be sent somewhere very far”

We will have a job only you can do”

That’s decided later. Now, it’s up to you”

What do you want me to do now”

Think of anything you want. You know how”

You will be there and it will be real”

Try to determine just how you feel”

If you want a change, think of something else”

All we want to determine is how you felt”

He thought about when he was young.

Playing outdoor games were fun.

He was there. He played them all.

Then, he thought about the colors of fall.

He was there, jumping into a pile of leaves.

He was admiring the color of all the trees.

Then, he thought of being a hero, a knight.

Just like that, he was in a fight.

He was in jousts, sword play and battles.

It was real. Not like a bunch of cattle.

He fought for his life and won.

He had never used a gun.

But, there he was, in western days.

He was the best with a gun in every way.

Everything he desired to be

was suddenly real, he could see.

He was a Don Juan with the girls.

The most popular guy. What thrills.

Then, he began to realize that’s all it was.

Just thrills. Real, but not who he was.

He began to feel this wasn’t really him.

He was who he used to be back then.

Suddenly, he was back in the white room.

A voice said “You are back so soon?”

You, obviously, are the person you were”

You will be going back home for sure”

You have learned who you really are”

Unfortunately, you will not be sent afar”

You will never return again here”

We, The Watchers, know what you fear”

We know now who you are”

We’ll send you home to follow your own star”

He was back home, still in his lotus position.

Did it happen?, or was it all in his head?

He slowly got up and went to bed.

From that day on, he was a different person.

More assertive and assured. No negative version.

He seemed totally satisfied with himself.

He gained friends, fame, and wealth.

He was still a average guy.

But, he had his pie in the sky.

Attitude Adjustment By God

    Attitude Adjustment By God

Do I have to say it again.

Sometimes you really get under my skin.

Just because something isn’t just right.

You are ready to start a fight.

Life is rough, but you make it worse.

Living with you is a real curse.

Have you heard of ‘Do unto others.’

Like you want done unto you.’, brother.

You cuss, you yell, you throw a fit.

Could you tone it down a little bit.

You must be a miserable old goat.

You’re never happy. You just gloat.

You make all around you miserable too.

Fortunately, I refuse to be that fool.

I will enjoy my life in spite of you.

There is much that is good all around.

Happiness is what you make it, I have found.

Everything is coming up roses.

Life is great, just focus.

You are missing out on so much.

You wallow in your misery and muck.

Time for you to change your way.

Life is too short. Time to pray.

Let God give you an attitude adjustment.

Change you into the way you were meant.

Let Him kick you through the goalposts of life.

A touchdown now would be worth the fight.

The Rule Of The 6

                     The Rule Of The 6

They had escaped from a secret government lab.

They had mental powers no one else had ever had.

Parts of their brains had been activated, in time.

Some kids didn’t make it, losing their mind.

They had been taken while still quite young.

Basically kidnapped. And so it had begun.

Using techniques they couldn’t describe.

Their brains were stimulated until they cried.

They all developed incredible powers.

To describe all they could do might take hours.

Eventually, they communicated by mental telepathy.

Afraid to speak out loud for fear of jeopardy.

They planned their escape using their powers.

Now that we  are free, the world is ours.”

Knowing right from wrong, 6 would do good.

2 had an evil side and raised hell when they could.

The 6 became super heroes, to some extent.

The 2 became their nemesis, which was their intent.

So, the battles began, while still avoiding being caught.

Caught by government agents, or being shot.

What happened with them is:  The Rule Of The 6.

It is exciting, deadly, and doesn’t get worse than this.

But, these are stories for another time.

Keep in mind that, though kids, they are hard to find.

Is A Win Really A Win?

Is A Win Really A Win?

I have heard it before.

I’ll hear it again.

A knock at the door.

Maybe I’ll win.

No chance in hell.

I’ve heard that before.

They’re ringing the bell.

What could it be for?

You have won!!

You’re rich as hell.

You said it couldn’t be done.

I’m rich now, so don’t tell.

Oh, it’s true. It’s damn true.

I knew I’d win again.

So, now what will we do?

She looked at me with a grin.

First, we’ll pay these damn bills.

Be debt free for a change.

Then, time for some thrills.

A busy schedule can be arranged.

What about the needy?

The poor will always be with us.

That is no reason to be greedy.

How do you know who you can trust?

I guess there is no way?

This puts us in a real bind.

Save most for a rainy day.

Yet, I feel I should be kind.

What the hell is wrong with you?

You tried for years to be a winner.

Now that you are, what do you do?

You’re not worth the price of a dinner.

You weren’t born to ever be rich.

Might as well give it all away.

Why are you being such a bitch?

This is supposed to be our lucky day.

It proves money doesn’t make you happy.

If anything, it makes more problems.

Will you just quit talking sappy.

If there is problems, we will solve them.

Let’s sleep on it and decide tomorrow.

We will be thinking clearer then.

This is good. There should be no sorrow.

O.K., but just think, what did you really win??

The Owl And I

                    The Owl And

When young, I was on my way to school.

I saw an owl in a tree. He said woo!!

I stopped and said “My name is Sam.”

Now that you know who I am,

who are you? He just said woo!

I was wondering what am I to do?

When all the bird says is woo!

He flew away right after that.

But, the next day, he was back.

Again, I heard him say woo!

I told him who I was too.

Are you saying woo is your name”

He said woo again. Was it a game?

Then he turned his head way around.

Doesn’t that hurt?” I said with a frown.

He fluffed his feathers and shook his head.

But, woo was all he ever said.

Soon, he flew away again.

Flying high on the wind.

Next day, he was there, as usual

If he wasn’t, it would be unusual.

I said woo! before he did.

I thought he would flip his lid.

He just looked with big ole eyes.

Shook his head as if to say ‘nice try.’

I tossed him a piece of apple.

He hopped down like going for a rat hole.

He grabbed the apple and returned to the tree.

Then, he gobbled it up real fast, you see.

He said woo! one more time.

Then flew away to see what he could find.

After that, it was a morning routine.

For me not to have an apple would be mean.

Soon, he was taking  it from my hand.

Sometimes, on my arm, he would land.

That day came when I was crossing the street.

I didn’t see the car rushing toward me. Screech.

The owl hit me in the back.

Knocking me out of the car’s track.

The owl had saved my life that day.

For that, I give thanks when I pray.

We remained friends till he started a family.

An old barn, outside of town, was their shanty.

I still see him now and then.

I give him apple because we are friends.

No Way, But Up

           No Way But Up

I know that look on your face.

You have failed in every case.

All you’ve tried falls apart.

Even love led to a broken heart.

No happy sunsets for you.

Just one more night to go through.

I would say you’re down and out.

All you do is sit and pout.

No clouds with a silver lining.

Nothing nice to  be reminding.

Life has been a one way street.

Nothing special or unique.

You have thought of ending it all.

That step might be your biggest fall.

No where now to go, but up.

It is hard. Like driving a truck.

Get down and knuckle under.

The sound of that is like thunder.

Roaring in your head so loud.

You can’t lose yourself in a crowd.

John Cena says never give up.

It takes a lot more than luck.

It takes hard work. Never give in.

In the end, you will win.

Put a smile on that face.

You can never be a disgrace.

You have brains, health, and good looks.

Just like written in a book.

Look ahead to the final chapter.

The ending is great. No crap here.

It is the book of your life.

You can write the ending without strife.

Go for the gold. Do your best.

Put those negative thoughts to rest.

Remember, no matter what you do.

The final results are up to you.

The Valley Of The Damned

       The Valley Of The Damned

He came back home all excited.

Come with me. Don’t fight it.”

Let’s go on a little hiking trip.”

Something to show you that will be a hit.”

We packed up and went on our way.

3 of us, and a dog named Stray.

We were hiking through the woods.

Whatever it is had better be good.

We finally reached a high ridge & stopped.

He got binoculars to look from this spot.

Soon, he gave the binoculars to me.

Take a look. Tell me what you see.”

A valley with trees, lake, and a river.”

What don’t you see.” He said with a quiver.

What do you mean?” I asked him.

No sign of  man.” He said on a whim.

A pristine valley where no one is.”

He said it like it was a quiz.

Doesn’t that seem strange to you?”

Maybe, but what’s this leading to?”

Let’s go down and look around.”

There must be something to be found.”

We headed down a deer trail.

It kept going down, without fail.

Then, it veered to the left and started back up.

I got a funny feeling in my gut.

Why does that deer trail turn off?”

It should have gone on down.” I coughed.

I don’t know. Let’s keep going down.”

Soon, we saw a bare spot on the ground.

As we went by we all felt a chill.

A mild jolt. Not much of a thrill.

What was that weird feeling?”

I have no idea” the others said, reeling.

Look, Stray won’t go past that spot.”

I’ll get him.” I didn’t like it a lot.

I had the same weird feeling.

I grabbed the dog. He was squealing

I picked him up to carry him back.

At that spot he began  to yap.

I passed over as quick as I could.

Once past, he was acting like he should.

We had no answers, so kept on going.

We reached the river, with water flowing.

We followed the river up the valley floor.

It looked as vacant as it did before.

Then, up ahead, we saw a small town.

There was absolutely no one around.

I could see this spot from the ridge.”

There was nothing here. Not even a bridge.”

We started exploring the town.

Who are you” We jumped & turned around.

A shaggy man in his 70’s stood there.

He seemed to come right out of nowhere.

We are just hikers looking around.”

Do you live here in this town?”

Yes, I am the only one left.”

“Once I’m gone, there will only be death.”

˜Just like it told us years ago.”

I was the youngest. I’ll be the last to go.”

What are you saying?” We hadn’t a clue.

O.K., I’ll tell the story to you.”

He told us 65 years ago it came.

An alien, a beast, a monster by name.

It spoke and said it needed this valley.

About 100+ lived here & we did rally.

It said it had something to do.

I will return, but not for you.”

By then, it said we would all be dead.

We would die of old age, it said.

It said it felt kindly today.

So it wouldn’t kill anyone right away.

It said a barrier will isolate us here.

There is no escape, I fear.”

We can live out our days.

We couldn’t reproduce in any way.

When it gets back we would all be dead.

Don’t think I am talking out of my head.”

I was 10 when it was here.”

I am now 75, I fear.”

When I am gone it will come”

Where did you boys come from”

Outside the valley. There was no barrier.”

There was a spot that felt weird there.”

I said “Apparently, the barrier is failing.”

We had better get out while it is ailing”

We packed him up and headed out.

Back out on the very same route.

We came to the spot that was weird.

The barrier was right here.” He feared.

I carried Stray across and the others went too.

The same weird feeling. We hadn’t a clue.

A short distance away, the old man stopped.

I was afraid of this” He said, shocked.

Then, he disappeared right before our eyes.

We knew for sure, his story wasn’t lies.

Later, after we all got home.

We all knew we weren’t alone.

But, we never spoke of it to any man.

We never went back to The Valley Of The Damned.
