Coming To Reason

      Coming To Reason

Yesterday was a day that was.

Today is a day for us.

Tomorrow is the sum of it all.

Depending on if you stand or fall.

We have gone  and we have come.

We have set them on the run.

We have dug deep for the truth.

We did it all in our youth.

Baby, stay.—Close your eyes and pray.

This is our day to stand.—- To stay.

Trouble can find you wherever you go.

Trouble isn’t fast and trouble isn’t slow.

So, stay baby, stay.—-Stay.

Pray baby, pray.—-Pray!!

We have lived in a small town.

It was small, but, it was our town.

Later on, we moved around.

But, our hearts were in the small town.

We were caught between now and then.

Yesterday and today, we have been.

Tomorrow is the sum of it all

If we don’t pray then we will fall.

Baby, stay.—Close your eyes and pray.

This is our day to stand.—- To stay.

Trouble will find you wherever you go.

Trouble isn’t fast and trouble isn’t slow.

So, stay baby, stay.—-Stay.

Pray baby, Pray.—-Pray!!

The Final Struggle

      The Final Struggle

In the last days of this old earth,

a time of trouble like has never

been will  spread it’s curse.

The people of God will weather

A hardship to keep God first.

The power of God will slowly

be withdrawn from the earth.

Those righteous left alive fully

realize what they are worth.

They are sealed in their foreheads.

Death before sin,— which is worse.

They stand firm, their course set.

Like Job, before denying God, he would die first.

Their food and water is sure.

But, like Jesus on the cross,

when he cried out “My God,

My God. Why have you forsaken me?”

When God withdraws they feel the loss.

But, they stand firm. They watch to see

Jesus coming in the sky with the host

of heaven surrounding Him. They

will sing a new song that will boast.

“Here is our God.” “ We are saved.”

“He is whom we have waited for.”

Those that are dead will raise first.

Then those alive will ascend for

translation not seeing death’s curse.

O praise the Lord. No greater day

can there be. Loved ones meet

hugging each other in joy and say

“Praise the Lord, our soul to keep.”————-R. W. Johnson—-2012)

Destined For Eternity

      Destined For Eternity

She’s all alone on a stormy night.

He’s in bed, not feeling right.

She drives her car down to the mall.

He gets up and makes a call.

She sits in her car for awhile.

Time for dinner, he thinks with a smile.

He gets dressed and goes to the mall.

She trips on the curb, about to fall.

He catches her and helps her stand.

So starts a romance as he takes her hand.

She joins him for dinner They talk a lot.

Both of them seem glued to their spot.

They walk around then take in a movie.

Both of them feel it’s really groovy

When they leave they make a date.

She says “Be on time & don’t be late.”

After four months of dating, they finally bond.

She moves in and they find they are fond

of pretty much the same things.

The rightness of it really rings.

In time he asks the question.

She accepts without exception.

Many years later, in their golden years,

they think back and reflect with tears.

She was kept from falling off the curb.

But, fell into his life without a word.

They had a family and happy times.

They remained in love. A love that binned.

Neither thought they would find one another.

They became a husband a wife a dad & a mother.

Now, they look forward to eternity.

Just him and her and God makes three.——R. W. Johnson—-(2011)

Open Prayer

      Open Prayer

Prancing and dancing and singing a song.

Loving life as I stroll along.

The sun is shining. What a wonderful day.

The birds will sing. The squirrels will play.

I met a man and he tipped his hat.

I smiled big and waved my hand back.

Next came a mother with a stroller.

Followed by a small child a little older.

The park on Saturday, like heaven’s parade.

All happy people not living a charade.

Just being themselves, and having fun.

No sign of muggers or men with a gun.

Just families on a picnic or just an outing.

Flying kites, running, laughing and shouting.

Life is great. It’s good to be alive.

Good to get away from that work week hive.

Seeing nature in such beautiful light

reminds me of God and all that is right.

I pray the world will one day have peace.

I would love for all the fighting to cease.

Probably, that day will only come

when we see the return of God’s only son.

Evolution

      Evolution

You’ve heard the theory of evolution.

Well, let me tell you of my conclusion.

I don’t believe man came from apes.

Or a group of molecules out in space.

That came together and spun around.

Eventually becoming  earthward bound.

To land in an ocean of primordial muck.

Then evolved with a lot of luck.

And, crawled slowly, upon the shore.

Then continued to evolve some more.

Eventually, after millions of years.

To become a man with all his fears.

But I do believe in “evolution”.

It’s got to be the only solution.

When man “evolves” he won’t eat meat.

He’ll have other good things to eat.

Like vegetables, legumes, nuts, and fruit.

Berries, melons, grapes, and roots.

When man “evolves” he won’t need clothes.

He’ll have a garment of light that glows.

When man “evolves” he won’t grow old.

Immortal life will be his to hold.

In fact, man has begun to “evolve” already.

It will start to happen when you are ready.

The changes will be slow at the start.

Most of the changes will be in the heart.

You ask me where I get my facts?

They’re in the Bible, near the back.

But, read this book from cover to cover.

Then, maybe soon, you’ll discover

the changes going on in you.

Then, maybe, you can “evolve” too.

You ask me how long will it take?

How much longer will I have to wait?

It will happen in the twinkling of an eye.

When we meet Jesus in the sky.———–R. W. Johnson——–(2011)

I’ll Be There

      I’ll Be There

Never fear that you will be alone.

You know how much our love has grown.

As you walk through this savage land,

I’ll be there to hold your hand.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

You may awaken and think I’m gone.

You will worry about what went wrong.

No amount of stress can make me leave.

I’ll always be there. You must believe.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

In the darkest night I’m by your side.

Your love gives me such loving pride.

Through the roughest times of life.

I am there through all the strife

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

When you think you can’t go on.

When it seems all hope is gone.

When there is nothing left to say.

I’ll be there to save the day.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

When you feel your drowning in sin.

When you feel there is no way to win.

Turn to me and I’ll guide you through.

I’ll be there and all will be cool.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

I’ll never turn away from you.

I’ll wrap my loving arms around you.

I’ll shelter you from all harm.

Nothing can take you from my arms.

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.

I’ve loved you from before you were born.

I’ll love you till the day they blow that horn.

My love will go on for eternity.

Please, won’t you give yourself to me?

I’ll be there. I’ll be there.————————R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

The Bloodline

      The Bloodline

She was a girl living in the city.

She was clinging to her religion.

She was not wise, such a pity.

The man cared nothing for religion.

He cared nothing for the bloodline.

She got lost in the bloodline.

Heavy cost of the bloodline.

But, she goes on.

She cries at night & keeps alive the bloodline.

So much riding on the bloodline.

Why’s he hiding from the bloodline?

It isn’t right.

She cries at night & keeps alive the bloodline.

She heard that heaven is invite-only.

Reserved for the Christian soldiers.

Not unwed girls living in the city & lonely.

Asking for change from old sirs.

But, The Bible says Jesus loves her.

Even though she never married,

God loves her more than the Christians do.

She is part of His Holy bloodline.

She got saved in the bloodline.

The price He paid for the bloodline

changed her life.

She cries at night & keeps alive His bloodline.

She believes in the bloodline.

Lives and breathes by the bloodline

with all her might.

She cries at night & keeps alive His bloodline.

I shouldn’t have let her shoulder all the burden.

She probably won’t forgive me. God may not either.

I made a cross and laid it on her shoulders, hurting.

But, I never broke her spirit.

She owes that to her bloodline.

She stayed strong for the bloodline.

I did wrong by the bloodline.

She went on.

She cried at night & kept alive the bloodline.

Sacrificed for the bloodline..

Paid the price for the bloodline

for all her life.

She cries at night & keeps alive the bloodline.

Coming On Strong

      Coming On Strong

Another day, as she drug out of bed.

She just sat there holding her head.

She had drank but, not that much.

She wasn’t using it as a crutch.

Mostly she was just depressed.

Just dried tears is all that’s left.

Names were called. Words were said.

Now she wished that she were dead.

She really didn’t want him gone.

But, she didn’t want to be treated wrong.

Everything was falling apart.

The pain of having a broken heart.

Depression was coming on strong.

Lord, tell me where I went wrong.

Will I ever see a better day?

She could hope, but couldn’t say.

She was sliding down into the gloom.

She felt the end was coming soon.

She had no desire to do a thing.

Just sit & hope the phone will ring.

Then she thought of her childhood.

Of family, friends , & motherhood.

She was so very happy then.

What had happened to those friends?

Then she remembered they were still there.

Her family & friends wanting to share.

She went home & found a love.

A love sent from God above.

Her family & friends were all there.

Giving support & giving care.

All she needed was here all along.

She was suddenly feeling strong.

No more crying & feeling depressed.

Family & friends took care of the rest.

Faith in God was coming on strong.

How did she ever go wrong?

This is where she needed to be.

Here she will stay for eternity.—————–R.W. Johnson—–(2011)

The Story Of Sin

      The Story Of Sin

Imagine, in 6 short days creation completed.

Everything was done that was needed.

Then why was there a tree of temptation?

Freedom of choice was God’s creation.

When man was created he had this choice.

God knew they would have a voice.

Satan accused God of forcing reverence.

Man’s free will could bring severance.

But, God told Satan they will choose Him.

Despite disobedience, bringing on original sin.

Man had free will so he could choose.

If he chose God he made the right moves.

Satan would do all to make man choose wrong.

If Satan won he would have a new song.

He would say God is a tyrant.

None would dare to deny it.

But, God knew man would not fail Him.

He would provide a way for them to win.

He would die to remove their sin.

A gift to man for those who choose Him.

The final scenes of this war is future in it’s curse.

God’s people will be watched by the universe.

A time of trouble like there never was.

God’s power withdrawn from the cause.

Satan attacking with a vengeance.

God’s people standing, relentless.

Standing firm in their faith & love for God.

Choosing on their own to love only God.

Proving to the universe once & for all.

They will love God by their choice rather than fall.

They can do nothing on their own but, choose.

But, their choice will make heavenly news.

God is no tyrant, but, a God of love.

There is no greater God above.

The entire universe will be in harmony.

The love of God has set them free.

Sin will never raise its ugly head again.

Let this future world begin!!——————–R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

Love Needs More

      Love Needs More

I am feeling like some circus clown.

She has turned my world upside down.

It was a roller coaster ride to hell.

At times things were really doing swell.

Then, our relationship crashed & burned.

You left and acted so  unconcerned.

What do you expect from love?

All white & fluffy like a turtle dove?

Or down and dirty like mud wrestling?

Keep it brief!!—– Just a little fling?

That’s not the way it is, I fear.

When you’re ready for love, I’ll be here.

Then I thought about what I said.

It touched something in my head.

God has made this thought very clear.

If you’re ready for love, then I’ll be here.

Tears started flowing from my eyes.

Oh, how I hated the deceit and lies.

A world ruled by sin is a miserable place.

I need you God to give me your grace.

I need forgiveness for my sins.

I need your love through thick & thin.

Perhaps a relationship with you in the middle.

Can make me feel as  fit as a fiddle.————R. W. Johnson—-(2012)
