Survival Has It’s Cost

      Survival Has It’s Cost

Struggling along through the burning sand,

while I hold my loved ones hand.

We help each other along.

The end will come. It won’t be long.

We have heavy packs upon our backs.

We even have some food in a few sacks.

Our water is starting to get low.

We don’t know how much further we can go.

We are being pursued for our food.

Someone is following. Stuck to us like glue.

If we can get through this desert,

we will be able to find solid dirt.

Then we can make better time.

Get to my brother’s house & be fine.

His place is deep in the mountains.

It is well guarded & near a fountain.

He has a large storehouse of supplies.

He awaits our arrival. He & his wife.

As we rest, I see the man. He is near.

I yell for him to stop, with fear.

He fires a shot at me. I duck for cover.

I grab my rifle & blow him off his feet.

He doesn’t move. Just lies in the heat.

I am shaking & cry out to the Lord.

“Why must I fight this crazy hoard?”

“Must I kill them all to survive?”

“Should I totally depend on you to stay alive?”

“Or, do I do what I can to help myself?”

“Let you handle everything else?”

We continue on across the burning sands.

Finally, we see some foliage on the land.

In a couple days we are in the mountains.

We thank God for our blessings as we count them.

It will still take days to reach his home.

We pray to God that we are not alone.

We have water now. There is small game.

We can survive.—– That much is plain.

My brother’s house finally comes into sight.

My walkie talkie reaches him in the night.

He is waiting when we reach the door.

I said “ I don’t want to kill anymore.”

We all pray for the Lord’s protection.

I ask forgiveness, with no exceptions.

The time of trouble has arrived.

All we wanted was to survive.

Live till we see our Lord in the sky.

Pray we’re saved and will not fry.

Time Running Out

      Time Running Out

Coming on strong.

I feel it won’t be long.

Coming on strong.

Time to sing a new song.

We are nearing the end.

I can feel it within.

We are nearing the end.

Only one way we can win.

I feel it coming down.

No use wearing a frown.

I feel it coming down.

Will it end with a crown?

Are you prepared?

Have you really cared?

Are you prepared?

You should not be scared.

He loves us all.

He’ll help us through the fall.

He loves us all.

All who keep His law.

Get ready now!!

Repent & bow.

Get ready now!!

Trust that He knows how.

Bend the knee to Him.

Confess all sin.

Bend knee to Him.

He is how you can win.

It’s not too late.

Time to seal your fate.

It’s not too late.

Next stop. The pearly gates

Loved Before I Was Here

      Loved Before I Was Here

I’ve been sitting in my room.

I know noon is coming soon.

Could it be the end of free?

Maybe it’s the end of me?

One time—– long ago,

I had nowhere to go.

You came by & set me free.

You said be all that I can be.

I’ve been on my own since then.

I never had a real close friend.

I just wandered here and there.

I’ve been almost everywhere.

I have seen & done it all.

Nothing saved me from the fall.

I know it is coming soon.

Because it is almost noon.

Maybe I am all mixed up.

Or, maybe I am in a rut.

Maybe it is midnight, not noon.

Both of them are coming soon.

There is nowhere I can run.

No more days of partying & fun.

If I run to the sea, it will be boiling.

If I ask for shelter it brings recoiling.

So, I sit here in my room.

Looking around at all the gloom.

Is there no way to escape my fate?

I should have repented. Now it’s too late.

The line has been drawn in the sand.

I should have crossed it & been the man.

Confessed my sins and surrendered my soul.

I am so sorry God. Only you could know.

Suddenly, a bright light all around.

I sit staring. Not making a sound.

A voice says. “My son, I have waited so long.”

“Do not fear. Just come along.”

Tears flood my eyes. It is not too late.

I have finally found my fate.

Why, oh why did I wait so long.

All this love cannot be wrong.

Praise the Lord for His long patience.

For His agape love. His elation.

He loved me before I was here.

Now, I will love Him without any fear.

End Time Prophet?

      End Time Prophet?

Let’s get out of this town fast.

My car is full of gas.

The top is down & I’m ready to roll.

There is no sense in going slow.

I know you’re not happy here.

You have made that much clear.

There is no need to hang around.

Show the world what you have found.

A prophet is not welcome in his own town.

They don’t want you hanging around.

You can sleep while I drive.

When you awaken, you’ll come alive.

There is so much we can do.

I can do it, if I’m with you.

You have such a creative mind.

Time for you to come back on line.

Start expressing yourself in such a way.

All will hear and then they will obey.

We believe all you have said.

We have let it go to our heads.

Changes are coming, thanks to you.

We will do all that you want us to.

Soon, you will have a huge following.

They will be shouting and calling.

Grasping every word from your mouth.

Tell them what it’s all about.

Point out the errors of their ways.

Promise them a better day.

Show them the way to arrive.

Show them how they can thrive.

You are a natural born leader.

There is only one way we can beat her.

We must all become as one.

The final movements have begun.

The whore of Mystery Babylon is here.

But, there is nothing to fear.

Give them the guidance they need.

Show them how they can feed.

Feed on the bread of life.

It will take them through the strife.

They will praise Him in the end.

They will praise Him before it begins.

They will owe it all to you.

For showing them how to make it through.

Though you claim no glory for yourself.

Your love & guidance has been felt.

A Land Gone But, Not Forgotten

A Land Gone But, Not Forgotten

There is a land that existed long ago.

A place where everyone would love to go.

It was like a beautiful garden.

Pure air, pure water, lovely to see.

Fruits and vegetables growing free.

The perfect temperature year around.

There was never a threatening sound.

All the animals were tame and kind.

They had your best interest in mind.

In this place, love was in the air.

There was evidence everywhere.

You could call it heaven on earth.

That is how much it was worth.

If you were outside, you couldn’t get in.

Those on the inside were safe within.

But, every paradise has its flaw.

Even this paradise had its law.

Don’t eat of the fruit of a certain tree.

Those living there were aware of it, see.

But, as fate goes, there came a day.

They ate of it. What else can I say.

They were forced to leave the garden.

Eventually, they would get a pardon.

The garden was removed from earth.

No taint of sin would touch it from the curse.

Eventually, it will be restored again.

You and I can go there within.

It is a promise God has made to us.

So, just repent and end the fuss.

What is ‘Original Sin?’

      What Is ‘Original Sin?’

I might be going out on a limb,

but, do you believe in ‘original sin?’

What do I mean by ‘original sin?’

Sin that was committed way back when.

The first sin committed by man.

When Adam ate the fruit in his hand.

True, Eve took a bite of it first.

But, the human race came under a curse

when Adam took a bite of the fruit.

He knew Eve would be given the boot.

He didn’t want to be left alone.

So he ate the fruit, letting out a groan.

This act was called the ‘original sin.’

Putting a curse on the human race from within.

Each person is born with a sinful nature.

Due to this ‘original sin’ maker.

Even Jesus was born with a sinful nature.

Inherited from his mother, not his maker.

However, He DID NOT SIN, overcoming by faith.

Our example and savior. He had what it takes.

What do they mean by a sinful nature?

How much faith does it take here?

It means we tend to do bad rather than good.

It is easy for us to be misled, though it should

not be so. By faith, we can overcome.

It is the only way to defeat where we came from.

We can do nothing of our own.

Only Christ, through us, it is shown,

can overcome that ‘man of sin’ inside.

The sinful nature will always abide.

It will be there till we are translated into

that glorious body made new for you.

Once you accept Christ as your personal savior

you are His son or daughter, translated later.

So, ‘original sin’ depends on your view.

But, it is something worth looking into.

The Answer Causes Confusion

      The Answer Causes Confusion

I thought I would put my mind to the test.

I would get to the bottom of this mess.

Who thought hula hoops would be fun?

Who dreamed up bubble gum?

What color is indigo blue?

Does Braille on drive thru’s make sense to you?

Why does ice expand when you freeze it?

Why isn’t there more padding in a baseball mitt?

If your cold and you’re feet turn blue,

who cares what color is your tennis shoe?

If movie goers require tickets,

and cricket is played with wickets.

Why do stamp collectors like to lick it?

Talking bears and singing frogs

make about as much sense as a driving hog.

What does all this add up to?

Maybe it means I love you.

I have been unable to think straight

since the day I realized my fate.

It is all still a mystery to me.

How in the world could this happen to be?

You are beautiful beyond belief.

Spending time with you is a real treat.

You are the sweetest thing I know.

You are always the best of show.

Maybe it’s the fact that you love me?

The reason why, I cannot see.

I’ll have to just accept it without doubt.

There is no way to figure it out.

It Ended In Peace

      It Ended In Peace

He had been a bad man all his life.

That’s why he was on death row.

Today is the last day of the fight

to try to keep his life in tow.

Execution time was approaching fast.

His last meal was being eaten.

Soon, the walk that would be his last

would come. He felt beaten.

“Dead man walking” it was known as.

That  walk to meet his maker.

He didn’t give the guards any sass.

He was quiet. No longer a taker.

The pastor asked if he had any last words.

Then, he saw a person of light.

He was real. It was not absurd.

No other saw him. There was no fight.

The being said “The Lord knows your heart.”

“Are you sorry for all your sins?”

“Do you ask forgiveness This is no lark.”

The man said “Yes, yes. How do I begin?”

“The being said “It is done. You are saved.”

‘Your name is written in the book of life.”

“Though, for your sins on earth, you must pay.”

“Your eternity is assured without any strife.”

The light faded away. He said “I am sorry”

The pastor said “Bless you my son.”

“May you sleep in eternal rest.”

At that the man got a real smile on his face.

As the IV dripped the fluid into his arm,

to put him to sleep. He smiled .

He seemed to truly not be alarmed.

“He has found peace” the pastor said, without denial.

Wolf Sees More In A Man

Wolf Sees More In A Man

He was a kindly, little, old, nature loving man.

He was out in the woods looking for mushrooms. .

He was down on his knees checking out the land.

Wolves caught his sent and found him real soon.

They surrounded him before he was aware.

The pack leader slowly approached the man.

He saw the wolf and could only stare.

The pack leader sniffed, then backed away, turned & ran.

He gave a howl and the other wolves followed.

The man couldn’t believe what just happened.

Thank God, the wolves didn’t want his raw bones.

He gathered the mushrooms in his lap then.

Then, he walked back to where his car remained.

About 2 months later he was back in the woods.

He heard a wolf crying, like it was in pain.

He found a pup, who would run away, if he could.

He couldn’t. His leg was in a trap & was broken.

The man freed the pup and carried him away.

In his car he had a brace. It was a real token.

Just the right size to fix the whelp’s leg today.

He fixed up the pup & returned him to the place.

He thought the pup could get home from there.

He made sure the trap wasn’t set, just in case.

He didn’t realize the wolves were all aware.

They watched everything he had done.

They saw that he had helped the little whelp.

They remembered that he was the one.

The one the pack leader decided to help.

A week later, he was back in the woods.

The wolves surrounded him like before.

He raised his hands up, knowing he should.

The pack leader  approached once more.

He sniffed, then licked the man’s hand.

Then gave a small growl like a meow.

Then, he turned and left the man.

He gave a small yip, then a growl.

All the wolves followed the leader.

He was left scratching his head.

It seemed he had nothing to fear.

It seemed to him that God had led.

It was the pack leader’s pup he helped.

The pack leader sensed this from the first.

He knew this man was not a whelp.

Sure enough, his senses were not a curse.

God gives all animals what they use.

God knew the man would help the pup.

His wisdom gave the wolf all the cues.

This was a man to save, not rip up.

Only By Faith

      Only By Faith

Two shots ring out in the dark.

One of them has pierced her heart.

We don’t need the Bible to know.

Something is wrong with this show.

Two young lovers walking along.

They were happy, singing a song.

When this tragedy struck one dead.

There was nothing to be said.

Months later, the police had a suspect.

Mistake in identity was his regret.

He intended for it to be someone else.

It doesn’t change how we all felt.

We wanted blood, mainly his.

He needs the death penalty for all this.

Life goes on for us without her.

Nothing really makes it better, for sure.

There has got to be a better way.

People are being killed every day.

Wasted lives, snuffed out when young.

Never knowing what they would become.

Are we to forgive the person who kills our love one?

Does that make it better, like it had never begun?

It takes a deep agape love to understand this.

Otherwise, there is no sense even being remiss.

Without agape love, the death penalty is it.

Still,—– nothing will ever  let you forget.

A type of hate festers and grows.

Nothing will cool it. that’s how it goes.

The end result is a loss all around.

There has to be holier ground.

The fact that God can take away all hate & bitterness.

Is a miracle beyond words, least we forget.

I pray that I am never faced with such a thing.

By faith alone,  can one’s feelings bring

any kind of conciliation for such a heinous act.

Totally trusting in God is where it is at.
