What To Do?

                What To Do?

Do you say to yourself each day.

I’m going out to save the world today.

Probably not, if you’re like most folks.

Easier to stay home herding goats.

But, think awhile about what I’ve said.

No problem. You can do it in bed.

Is there something you can do

to make the world better for me & you?

Maybe it’s a letter to the editor.

Maybe it’s helping the sick feel better.

Maybe it’s a missionary project to do.

There has to be something that comes from you.

If you’re lucky, a Wal Mart greeter.

Or, maybe just be a little sweeter.

Not to just the ones you know & love.

To anybody not mentioned above.

Just a smile will go a long way

to help someone have a better day.

There is a lot of other things you can do.

I should not have to name them all for you.

Work on it in your spare time.

You don’t have to spend a dime.

If you need examples,  read the Bible.

Read about Christ’s life. He is liable

to make that change in you.

So you can ‘improve’ the world too.———-R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

Heavenly Dream

           Heavenly Dream

I went in search of the silver star.

I made a left just past Mars.

I went past the asteroid belt.

I flew so fast I thought I’d melt.

But, it’s really cold in space.

Not a very friendly place.

I traveled beyond the solar system.

Now I have to use my wisdom.

There are no direction signs out here.

Very little around, I fear.

Out, out into the galaxy.

I flew fast & I flew free.

Finally I reached the nearest star.

But, nothing silver here so far.

I headed for Orion’s belt.

I went fast  with what I was dealt.

When I arrived there  was a giant star tunnel.

Stars on all sides like a funnel.

Into the funnel I dived.

I began to think; soon I will arrive.

At the end I found the silver star.

Often called the Northern Star.

I was about to land when I awoke.

I heard a voice as it spoke.

“It’s not time for you to be here yet.”

“You can come home when everything’s set”.

The Way It Is

        The Way It Is

Peek a boo.—– I see you.

What the heck is a Pick-a-chew??

Poke-e-mon names for you and me.

Spelled wrong, no doubt, as you can see.

Whatever happened to kick the can.

Try and catch me if you can.

Hide and seek and guessing games?

Today they are only a name.

Kids are glued to video games.

To us it all seems pretty lame.

Yet, it keeps them occupied most of the time.

Is it a good way or is it a crime??

When you wish upon a star.

It does make a difference who you are.

Bring them up right & they will follow the Lord.

Not be a member of some angry hoard.

Video games can be good or bad.

It all depends on the upbringing you’ve had.

So get it down and get it right.

Raise them properly with all your might.

The rest will be up to the Lord.

Sit back & watch. You won’t be bored.——-R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

The Lesson At The Banyon Tree

The Lesson At The Banyan Tree

Where will we play today asked panda bear?

The orangutan shook out his underwear.

How about in the Banyan tree?

I guess that would be fun for me.

They set off through the forest.

They met a monkey that looked like a florist.

He had a big armload of flowers.

He was hiding like a coward.

Don’t be afraid said panda bear.

We’re not going to give you a scare.

We’re headed for the Banyan tree.

Would you like to come along and see?

The monkey tossed the flowers aside.

I will come and be your guide.

So off they went as happy as could be.

They were in search of the Banyan tree.

They came upon a babbling brook.

They got closer and took a look.

How will we get across this raging river?

Said the monkey with a quiver.

This is just a small babbling brook.

The orangutan said with a stern look.

Right up there we can jump across.

Come here monkey. I’ll give you a toss.

On they went deep into the forest.

It seemed to get darker along their course.

The monkey was getting a little frightened.

The grip of panda bear on his hand tightened.

Hey monkey, I thought you knew the way?

I did but, things look a lot different today.

On they went till they came to a gigantic tree.

It had lots of trunks, you see.

There it is yelled the monkey with glee.

I can’t wait to climb that tree.

As they got near they heard a deep voice.

What brings you to my tree of choice?

They all jumped and looked around.

There was no one to be found.

Look up here in the tree.

Now, do you see me?

It was a huge vulture sitting on a limb.

He looked like the devil was his next of kin.

We came to play in the Banyan tree.

Said panda bear as nice as could be.

Nobody plays in my tree without a gift.

The vulture was sounding a little miffed.

What kind of gift asked orangutan?

I usually like something dead.

They all looked at him with dread.

I was thinking more of love said panda bear.

Love? What is that? Something for my hair?

No, love like from the father above.

He made all nature and all we love.

He even made this Banyan tree.

He even made you and me.

I have never heard of this ‘father’.

They all told him of the creator God and His love for us.

The vulture was moved. Join me he said with no fuss.

Soon they were all playing in the Banyan tree.

Sharing brotherly love .There’s a lesson here for you & me.

Share your knowledge of the savior with all you meet.

You may end up with a Banyan tree treat.

Good News In Bad Times

          Good News In Bad Times

I was watching the news the other day.

I thought: ‘This is no way for people to play.’

This is all like it’s controlled by Satan.

All the killing & trouble is of his making.

He is, or was, the ‘prince’ of this place.

He has no plans that were laid in haste.

He hates man & is jealous of all of us.

He would like to kill every last one of us.

How can we be foolish enough to allow this?

Stupid enough to embrace Satan with a kiss?

The Holy Bible is our guide book to avoid this.

Many don’t believe the Bible. It’s hit & miss.

We are doomed if we don’t trust & follow God.

I’m not preaching ‘doomsday’, or anything odd.

Just quoting facts from the word of truth.

I am not trying to be uncouth.

I know it’s scary.  Even frightening at times.

But, the truth must be told. It’s not a crime.

Take the time to give God some thought.

Remember some things you may have forgot.

God is love. He is the way, the truth, & the light.

Strive to know Him with all your might.

Repent & pray for guidance from above.

He will give you all His love.

You will know that you are saved.

You can have relief & ride the waves.

Waves of trouble like has never been seen.

Through faith, you will live like a queen.

In the end God will bring you through.

Your reward will be He will always be with you.

A Better High

               A Better High

I don’t use smack & I don’t use crack.

I don’t associate with those who do.

Hallucinogenics are  exactly that.

They are not the real you.

Alcohol can give you a buzz.

In the end it will be the end of you.

You’ll end up wanting it the way it was.

Marijuana can get you high.

You’ll lose all motivation .

You won’t even try.

Many things can get you high.

If that is what you’re looking for.

Higher than a kite can fly.

But, the crash is a real chore.

The old saying remains true.

What is that you may ask?

You can never run away from you.

It’s shocking when you remove the mask.

There is something much better.

You will stay high all the time.

It is the forgiveness and love of God.

I will take that high anytime..——————-R.W. Johnson—–(2014)

A Work In Progress

A Work In Progress

The explosion was extremely loud.

It shook the foundation of my soul.

It was enough to blow off a shroud.

If I had one covering me head to toe.

An explosion of pure knowledge.

An awakening to the  ‘real’ truth.

Learning more than when in college.

Knowing how to detect any ruse.

It happened when I accepted Jesus.

I was overwhelmed when it came.

Like the scales on my eyes releases.

I have never been the same.

Oh, what joy. What a feeling.

I MUST tell others of this.

If I can ever stop kneeling.

So thankful for the heavenly kiss.

Come to Jesus one and all.

Have your sins washed away.

Answer that heavenly call.

Let Jesus tell you what to say.

You’ll be heaven bound.

You’ll be one of His family.

There will be many others around.

Or, at least, there can be.

We have a work to do first.

Spread the good word all around.

Then many others can escape the curse.

They also will be heaven bound.————–R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

Time Traveler Finds God (Version #2)

Time Traveler Finds God. (version 2)

The sun was setting,  turning the landscape ablaze.

The road across the valley looked golden in the haze.

Bringing with it another night in this future land of horrors.

Can I survive till the next paradoxical shift opens a door?

Traveling into the future is safe from a time paradox.

Getting back,  however, is  becoming a major crock.

It takes a certain alignment of the stars and earth.

This happens quarterly, for what it is worth.

No one had a clue what the future held.

The book of Revelation tried to make the sell.

Through allegorical prophecy, if interpreted right.

Biblical scholars tried with all their might.

But, the horrors were beyond our grasp.

I pray for God to end this horror at last.

If I survive by God’s grace to return to my time.

I will spread the word before we run out of time.

REPENT!!, REPENT!! Before it is too late.

I have been to the future and it’s not great.

There is only one way for you to survive.

Give God your heart & soul to stay alive.

You’ll see God and heaven’s host when they arrive.

The wicked will die when God’s glory hits their eyes.

Your name will be found written in the book.

You’ll be heaven bound with no backward look.

The horror of this future you will pass through

will be blotted from your mind. Praise God anew!!

Time travel is not all it’s thought to be.

Being right with God means more to me.—-R. W. Johnson—–(2013)

Time Traveler Finds God

          Time Traveler Finds God

I was moving through time with ease.

Going back in time was such a breeze.

Going forward in time was more difficult.

You couldn’t tell if you would cause a ‘tilt’.

I learned this trick from a shaman.

He said to concentrate & say when.

Think of the date time and place.

Be ready to move with all haste.

Do NOT appear within a wall.

Or any other structure at all.

Make sure it’s clear where you will appear.

Then you can travel without any fear.

My first trip back was short and sweet.

I tripped the bully across the street.

I knew he never saw me coming.

Afterwards, I took off running.

My shaman told me this was not wise.

What would happen if he had died?

I went over the do’s & don’ts & the reasons why

before I gave it one more try.

Soon I was revisiting the good & avoiding the bad.

But, knowing the ending, was kind of sad.

It was like seeing a movie over and over.

Yet, not being able to change things seemed so queer.

Then I said the future is the place for me.

I zipped forward to see what I could see.

First thing I noticed there was no sign of me.

Maybe I died before then. Could that be?

I got scared and returned real fast.

I had finally seen the light at last.

I prayed to God to forgive my sins.

I swore I would never do it again.

That was the end of my time traveling days.

Now my time is filled with praise.

If God had wanted me to time travel,

It would say so in the Bible.

He said there is enough work here and now.

Spread the ‘word’ to others somehow.

You know time is running out.

Being there is what it’s all about.————–R. W. Johnson—–(2013)

The Black Box

          The Black Box

The secret to life and success

was hidden in the black box.

Wait a minute, let me regress.

The scroll was found under a rock.

It all started when I was young.

We were kids, just fooling around.

We were looking for some fun.

In the old ruins outside of town.

That’s when we found the scroll.

We knew it was really old.

We made it our number 1 goal.

To try and break the code.

The scroll was written in code.

It didn’t make any since to us.

We need a key, we were told.

Something to help was a must.

Something like a book or letter.

We had no idea what to use.

Then, years later, it got better.

I thought of The Bible to use.

Matching the numbers  to

chapter & verse worked.

This broke the code, cool.

We could understand this quirk.

The secret to life & success.

Was hidden in a black box.

Not far from where you possessed

the scroll you found under the rock.

There were a few clues.

We looked for them in the old ruins.

We could no longer find the clues.

For years we searched those old ruins.

One day we found one of the clues.

We worked like mad digging for others.

Finally, almost too exhausted to move.

We found the final clue that covered.

Move one more thing and

the box should be there.

“There it is.,” lying in the sand.

It looked like it was all there.

We picked it up with trembling hands.

Blew off the dust and opened it up.

There, before our eyes, lying in sand.

The Holy Bible, with a note sticking up.

It said here is the secret to life & success.

Read this book from cover to cover.

God will do all the rest.

We just stood looking at one another.

We don’t know who set all of this up.

It was done long ago is all we know.

We like to think it was an angel’s cup

overflowing with love for our souls.———-R. W. Johnson—–(2014)
